Selling House Containers

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

There are diverse channels for selling house containers, and prices vary based on specifications, configurations, and conditions. When purchasing, it is important to pay attention to inspection and transaction security.

I. Sales Channels

  1. B2B Platform and Direct Factory Sales: You can contact container manufacturers or trading companies through B2B platforms like Alibaba. For example, Shanghai Changxu International Trade Co., Ltd. and Heshi (hengshui) Technology Co., Ltd. These platforms offer a variety of new and used containers in different specifications, supporting customization and bulk purchases.
  2. Local Physical Companies: Integrated housing companies (such as those in Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, and Chongqing) usually have yards where you can inspect and purchase containers directly on-site, suitable for customers who need quick delivery or on-site inspections.
  3. Second-hand Market and Construction Sites: Second-hand containers can be purchased through logistics equipment companies (such as Shanghai Liangna Logistics Equipment Co., Ltd.) or by scouting around construction sites. However, pay attention to the condition and transportation costs.

II. Price Range

  1. New Containers: The price of a 20-foot new container starts at approximately ¥375.59, while a 40-foot luxury expandable house can cost over ¥30,000, depending on the configuration (such as electrical wiring, flooring, doors, and windows).
  2. Second-hand Containers: Basic refurbished residential models cost less than ¥10,000, while premium refurbished models (including fire-resistant rock wool and new electrical wiring) require negotiation. Special deals on construction site containers may be as low as less than ¥3,000, but they are in poorer condition.
  3. Customization and Modification: Customized products like modular container houses and expandable residences are more expensive. For example, the price range for a 20-foot prefabricated container house is ¥3,890.01-4,694.83, while a 40-foot luxury container house can exceed ¥100,000.

III. Precautions

  1. Inspection Standards: Check the structure (no rust on columns and beams), roof/walls (no rust holes or water leakage), floor (no mold or holes), insulation (rock wool not damp), and electrical wiring (no aging or exposed wires).
  2. Transaction Security: Prioritize companies with qualification verification and a long establishment history. Sign a contract and clarify after-sales responsibilities to avoid risks associated with individual transactions.
  3. Regional Policies: Some cities (such as Beijing) have planning permit requirements for residential containers. Confirm site compliance in advance.
