Self-made Mobile Toilet Storage Trolley

Admin 01 de octubre de 2026

The self-made mobile toilet storage trolley can be achieved by modifying the structure of a basic trolley, taking into account requirements such as load-bearing capacity, waterproofing, and privacy. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Building the Basic Frame
Prioritize using angle steel, square steel tubes, or anti-corrosion wooden frames as the main materials. For a lightweight option, weld four 80-centimeter square steel tubes into a rectangular frame and add crossbars at the bottom for enhanced stability. For a cost-effective solution, directly combine angle steel with a ready-made wooden frame and secure them with self-tapping screws. The frame size should be adjusted according to the toilet space, with a recommended width of no more than 60 centimeters for easy passage through narrow corridors.

2. Selecting and Installing Wheels
The toilet scenario requires a balance between steering flexibility and load-bearing capacity. It is recommended to use two swivel casters with brakes (fixed positions) and two heavy-duty iron-core rubber wheels (with a load capacity of over 100 kilograms). The wheels should be fixed to the four corners of the frame using bolts or welding. After installation, test the smoothness of rolling to avoid jamming or abnormal noises.

3. Layered Design for Storage Function

  • Bottom Layer: Used for storing heavy items such as toilet paper and cleaning agents. A removable water tray can be added (if showering or toilet drainage is involved), with the tray edge being higher than 5 centimeters to prevent splashing.
  • Middle Layer: Install a wooden or plastic board as a shelf, with an anti-slip mat attached to the surface. If space allows, add foldable dividers for categorizing and storing towels and toiletries.
  • Top Layer: Weld crossbars or install hooks to hang long items such as showerheads and brushes, saving space.

4. Waterproofing and Rust Prevention Treatment

  • Metal Parts: Spray anti-rust paint (such as epoxy zinc-rich primer), focusing on covering welding points and screw holes to prevent rusting from long-term moisture exposure.
  • Wooden Parts: Choose anti-corrosion wood or apply outdoor-grade waterproof paint, and seal the edges with glass glue to prevent moisture penetration and deformation.
  • Seam Treatment: Fill the connections between the frame and wooden boards with waterproof glue. Add rubber gaskets to the wheel mounting holes to reduce friction and water seepage risks.

5. Privacy and Safety Optimization

  • Shielding Design: If the trolley needs to be used independently, add removable curtains (made of waterproof Oxford cloth) or transparent acrylic panels around the frame, secured with Velcro or buckles, to balance privacy and lighting.
  • Load-bearing Test: After loading items, manually shake the trolley to check its structural stability, ensuring that the wheels are firmly connected to the frame to prevent tipping.
  • Drainage Planning: If showering functionality is involved, reserve a drainage hole at the bottom of the water tray and connect a hose to direct it to the floor drain. Measure the pipe route in advance to avoid bending and blockage.

Precautions: If water and electricity modifications (such as connecting drainage pipes) are involved, it is advisable to consult a professional plumber. Before use, check the brake function of the wheels to ensure that the trolley does not slide when fixed. The overall cost is approximately 50-150 yuan (depending on material selection). Prepare tools such as an electric drill, angle grinder, welding equipment (or self-tapping screws), and wear goggles and gloves during operation to ensure safety.
