Self-made Mobile Toilet

Admin 22 de septiembre de 2026

You can refer to the following two methods for making a mobile toilet:

Method 1: Using a water storage barrel

  1. Basic Structure Construction
Select a household water storage barrel and use an angle grinder to split it in half lengthwise, keeping one half as the main body. Install universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to ensure mobility. Fix wooden strips to the upper edge of the barrel with self-tapping screws to form an elevated frame, increasing the interior space height.
  2. Functional Module Installation
Cut an entrance on the side of the water storage barrel using an angle grinder, and attach sponge strips on both sides as door frame buffers. Insert plastic soft panels as walls and cover the top with the other half of the split barrel as a roof. Paint the wooden strips of the roof with white waterproof paint to enhance durability and aesthetics.
  3. Drainage and Sewage System
Drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel to install a drain pipe, connecting it to a sewage barrel to form a floor drain. Drill a hole on the side to connect a plastic barrel as a water storage device. Connect the water pipe to a bath heater and showerhead, with a three-way connector diverting water to the sink's inlet pipe. Place the toilet above the drain pipe hole, install a water tank, and seal it with glass glue.
  4. Detail Optimization
Use foam strips to拼接 (join) discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door, and drill holes in the door to install connectors. Extend the outlet pipe's three-way connector horizontally to the entrance to form a sink water supply system, ensuring functional completeness.

Method 2: Using a water storage tank and a pallet

  1. Mobile Chassis Construction
Select a plastic pallet as the base and fix universal wheels at the four corners at the bottom to ensure structural stability and mobility. This method requires combining with a water storage tank or other containers to complete the installation of subsequent functional modules.
  2. Functional Expansion Suggestions
The pallet can serve as a support platform for the water storage tank, connecting to a drain pipe and sewage system through drilled holes. If toilet facilities are needed, refer to Method 1 to fix a toilet and water tank on the pallet, or directly use finished mobile toilet components to simplify the process.

Precautions

  • Safety: Wear protective gear when operating angle grinders and other tools to avoid cuts or burns from sparks.
  • Sealing: Thoroughly seal the connection between the toilet and the drain pipe with glass glue to prevent leakage.
  • Compliance: If used in public places, comply with local health and environmental standards, such as sewage pipe diameter and water storage capacity parameters.
  • Maintenance: Regularly clean the sewage barrel and water storage device to avoid blockages or odor diffusion.
