Second-Hand Container House Cost

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

The cost of second-hand container houses varies widely depending on multiple factors, generally ranging from a thousand yuan to tens of thousands of yuan, specifically depending on size, condition, location, and configuration.

Size is one of the core factors influencing the price. Among common specifications, a 3×3m residential container typically costs around 5,000 yuan second-hand, while a 3×6m one costs about 7,500 yuan. Due to the scarcity of second-hand 3×7m containers, their price is around 8,500 yuan. For basic models, such as a 3m by 6m specification in Zhuhai or Hechi, prices can be as low as 1,300-2,500 yuan; whereas standard models like a 20-foot shipping container in Ningbo, which is relatively new and fully equipped, still sell for 8,500 yuan. High-end custom models have a vast price range, with a 12-meter special container featuring intelligent temperature control costing 60,000-80,000 yuan, and custom models for special scenarios like lakeside duplexes even exceeding 130,000 yuan.

The condition directly affects the pricing logic. The depreciation rate of second-hand container houses is usually related to their years of use and maintenance status. For example, containers made of high-quality materials like rock wool panels can have a lifespan of over 8 years if well-maintained, and their second-hand prices remain relatively stable; whereas containers with simple configurations or severe aging may see a significant drop in price. Some sellers classify containers by condition, such as '90% new' or '80% new', with price differences reaching 30%-50%.

Regional differences lead to price fluctuations. Economically developed areas or logistics hub cities (such as Ningbo) have a larger supply of second-hand containers, leading to fierce competition and potentially lower prices compared to remote areas. Additionally, transportation costs are an important consideration; if buyers need to purchase across regions, actual expenses may increase by 10%-20%.

Configuration level determines added value. Basic models only include a frame and simple insulation, while high-end models may integrate intelligent temperature control, eco-friendly materials, and custom layouts. For example, the lakeside duplex container in Qiandao Lake, which incorporates landscape design and high-end facilities, costs far more than standard specifications.

Purchase recommendations: If on a limited budget, prioritize basic models or sources from economically developed areas; for long-term use, opt for durable materials like rock wool panels and verify the condition grade; for custom needs, clarify functional requirements in advance to avoid modification costs later.
