Container Houses Near Schools

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

There are certain safety hazards associated with the use of container houses near schools, and caution is required.

Firstly, fire safety hazards are prominent. Container houses often use flammable materials such as polystyrene and polyurethane foam as core materials. These materials have poor fire resistance and can be ignited by electrical welding sparks, cigarette butts, etc. Once a fire breaks out, the flammable core materials burn rapidly, melting and deforming at 80℃ and dripping, causing the fire to spread quickly. Moreover, the combustion products are highly toxic. At the same time, since container houses are wrapped in iron sheets, it is difficult for water cannons to penetrate the interior during firefighting, increasing the difficulty of extinguishing the fire. In addition, trapped individuals face difficulties in escaping. The combustion of polystyrene and polyurethane produces thick black smoke, and toxic fumes accumulate inside the room, easily leading to casualties.

Secondly, structural safety needs attention. Although the overall structure of container houses uses a light steel frame, some illegal buildings may have unstable structures to save costs. Under extreme weather conditions, such as strong winds and heavy rain, container houses may face the risk of collapse, posing a threat to the safety of occupants.

Furthermore, there is a lack of usage regulations and supervision. Currently, the usage regulations for container houses are not well-established. There may be illegal construction and the use of flammable materials near some schools. At the same time, the supervision by regulatory authorities regarding fire safety and structural safety of container houses may be inadequate, resulting in safety hazards not being promptly addressed.

Suggestions: If container houses are to be used near schools, it should be ensured that they are made of Class A fire-resistant materials such as rock wool boards and fireproof cotton to meet fire resistance requirements. During use, keep away from heat sources and open flames, protect electrical cables with conduits, and equip with simple firefighting equipment. At the same time, strengthen supervision to ensure that the use of container houses complies with relevant regulations and safety requirements.
