Principle of Mobile Toilets in Scenic Spots
The principles of mobile toilets in scenic spots vary depending on their types, mainly including water-flushing, foam-sealing, microbial degradation, and ecological public toilet technologies.

Water-flushing mobile toilets need to be connected to municipal water supply and drainage networks, and their working principle is similar to that of traditional fixed toilets. After a user finishes excretion, clean water is used to directly flush the waste into the sewage pipeline. This type of mobile toilet is suitable for places with a fixed water source, such as scenic spots near urban water supply systems or areas with a stable water supply nearby. Due to its reliance on external water sources and sewage pipelines, its scope of use is somewhat limited, but it can provide a relatively conventional toilet experience in places with corresponding infrastructure.
Foam-sealing mobile toilets use lubricating foam instead of a large amount of clean water for flushing. Inside the toilet, specialized equipment generates a large amount of fine foam, which covers the surface of the waste, blocking odors. At the same time, the lubricating property of the foam allows the waste to slide smoothly into the storage container. Compared with water-flushing toilets, foam-sealing toilets have a significant water-saving effect, greatly reducing water consumption, and are especially suitable for scenic spots with relatively scarce water resources.
Microbial degradation mobile toilets are based on solid-liquid separation technology. After waste enters the toilet, it first passes through a solid-liquid separation device to initially separate the solid and liquid. Then, through the action of microbial flora, the organic matter in the solid and liquid is decomposed. After a period of biological reaction, the waste is finally decomposed into carbon dioxide, water, and a small amount of organic fertilizer. This type of mobile toilet does not require an external sewage pipeline and is suitable for remote scenic spots without a pipeline network. Moreover, the temperature generated by the biological reaction can reach 50 - 65℃ or even higher, effectively killing pathogenic microorganisms and ensuring hygiene and safety.
The ecological public toilet technology is adopted by some scenic spots. During initial operation, 70 - 80 kilograms of water need to be injected to maintain the activity of the microbial flora. Subsequently, it has the characteristics of water conservation, mobility, and no water flushing. It uses an air circulation system to deodorize and keep the air inside the toilet fresh. At the same time, this technology can also recycle the waste, extracting enzyme proteins from urine to make water-soluble fertilizers and converting feces into feed or fertilizers, achieving resource recycling and conforming to the concept of sustainable development.
