Residential Container House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

A residential container house is a movable living space formed by transforming and combining containers as basic modules. It features flexible adaptability, controllable costs, environmental protection, and energy efficiency, making it suitable for various scenarios such as temporary offices, accommodations, and event support.

1. Structural Performance and Safety

Residential container houses employ a fully steel structural frame, providing excellent wind and earthquake resistance. For example, the packing-box units from Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. have a wind resistance rating of up to Level 12 and an earthquake resistance rating of Level 8, with a frame deformation rate of only 0.18%, well below the industry's acceptable threshold of 0.3%. This structural stability is particularly crucial in extreme conditions, such as coastal typhoons and high-intensity earthquakes, ensuring the safety of occupants.

2. Installation Efficiency and Layout Flexibility

The installation efficiency of container houses significantly surpasses that of traditional buildings. Take Suzhou Zhongnan's quick-assembly containers as an example; a single unit can be installed in just 2 hours and can be combined as needed to complete the construction of 10 standard dormitory units within a day. Their packing-box units come pre-installed with interiors and facilities at the factory, allowing for immediate use upon on-site hoisting, making them ideal for long-term on-site projects. In contrast, traditional buildings have longer installation cycles and limited layout adjustments.

3. Environmental Protection and Sustainability

Container houses offer significant advantages in environmental protection. Their materials can be recycled throughout their lifecycle, with each standard 20-foot container consuming approximately 1.2 tons of steel and emitting only 1/2.3 of the carbon emissions of a one-time poured concrete temporary building. Additionally, container houses can be hoisted as a whole to new sites, with disassembly and assembly losses controlled within 5%, significantly reducing construction waste. Some products also integrate self-circulating sewage systems, further minimizing environmental impact.

4. Economy and Applicability

The cost of container houses is relatively low and can be customized according to needs. For example, a 3×6-meter container can be rented for approximately 6 yuan per day and purchased for around 10,000 yuan. Its modular design makes transportation and storage costs controllable, especially suitable for cross-regional projects and scenarios with turnover demands. Furthermore, container houses can be powered by solar photovoltaic panels and heated by solar water heaters, further reducing long-term usage costs.
