Refitted Container House Assembly

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

When assembling refitted container houses, attention should be paid to key points such as structural design, material treatment, functional layout, and construction specifications:

1. Structural Design

The type of container house structure directly affects its stability and applicable scenarios. Welded integral containers are welded into shape as a whole in the factory, with a direct load-bearing path and strong resistance to deformation, making them suitable for frequent lifting and moving. Bolt-connected assembled containers use standard plates connected by bolts. It is necessary to focus on checking the wall thickness of the steel used for the columns and bottom beams (common specifications range from 1.5 mm to 3 mm). The thicker the wall thickness, the greater the load-bearing redundancy, but the corresponding increase in self-weight. For multi-layer stacking scenarios, it is necessary to disperse the load by adding C-shaped steel purlins. For example, after Baotou Xinxing Color Plate Steel Structure added purlins between the bottom beams, the stacked three-layer container bodies remained structurally stable.

2. Material Treatment

Steel corrosion protection and thermal insulation are crucial. Corrosion protection requires shot blasting for rust removal followed by spraying with zinc-rich primer and polyurethane topcoat. The protective system can maintain the effective service life of the steel for more than 15 years in environments with northwest wind and sand and temperature differences. Thermal insulation requires addressing the cold and hot bridge effect of the metal container walls. Improvement solutions include adopting a broken-bridge lining structure, filling hard polyurethane foam between the steel frame and interior wall panels, and adding rubber thermal insulation pads at the connections of the keels, reducing the heat exchange efficiency between the interior and exterior of the container by about 40%.

3. Functional Layout

The interior space needs to be customized according to the usage scenario. Residential scenarios require dividing functional areas such as bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. For example, a 15-square-meter container home achieves flexible space conversion through a foldable bed, which serves as a sofa during the day and unfolds into a double bed at night. Commercial scenarios require a combination of display and practicality. For example, internet-famous container shops adopt double-layer glass curtain wall designs and customize furniture with birch plywood inside to distinguish different functional areas.

4. Construction Specifications

It is necessary to strictly follow modular building standards. During the factory prefabrication stage, more than 80% of the processes, including the main structure, interior decoration, and installation of mechanical and electrical pipelines, need to be completed. For example, the China Construction Steel Structure Modular Building Production Base completes kitchen and bathroom layouts and living room decoration in the workshop, consistent with the standards of finished decorated residential buildings. During the on-site assembly stage, only a small number of processes such as module connection and water and electricity connection need to be completed. For example, the 63 modular elderly care apartments purchased by British customers took only two weeks from shipment to completion of on-site lifting and construction.
