Public Single Portable Toilet

Admin 24 de septiembre de 2026

A public single portable toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and provides toilet services to the public, suitable for both fixed and temporary demand locations. The following is an introduction from its composition, classification, characteristics, and application scenarios:

I. Composition
A public single portable toilet usually consists of modules such as a fecal sewage storage tank (or disposal device), floor slab, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tank, roof, and moving device. Initially made of wood, it gradually adopted lightweight and high-strength materials such as fiberglass and polyethylene. Some high-end models use stainless steel and aluminum-plastic panels, balancing durability and corrosion resistance. For example, fiberglass is lightweight and weather-resistant, suitable for long-term outdoor use; steel structures are sturdier and suitable for high-traffic scenarios.

II. Classification

  1. By structural form: It is divided into single-unit structures (independent units, flexible installation) and composite structures (multi-unit combinations, strong functional extensibility).
  2. By moving method: It includes lifting and handling types (requiring lifting equipment assistance) and powered towing types (with their own power or connectable to vehicle traction).
  3. By sewage treatment method:
    • Water-flush and non-water-flush suction types: They rely on a water source for flushing, and sewage needs to be regularly pumped out; non-water-flush types use sealed bags or chemical agents to treat feces.
    • Recirculating water-flush types: Equipped with a water treatment system, they achieve water resource recycling and reduce water consumption.
    • Dry packing types: They use biodegradable sealed bags to collect feces, requiring no water flushing, and are suitable for water-scarce or environmentally demanding scenarios.

III. Characteristics

  1. Portability: The modular design supports rapid assembly and disassembly and can be transported by trucks, cranes, etc., to remote areas or temporary event sites.
  2. Environmental friendliness: Some models are equipped with deodorization systems, biodegradation technology, or solar power supply to reduce odors and energy consumption.
  3. Economy: Compared with traditional brick-and-mortar toilets, the construction cost is lower, and they can be reused, resulting in lower long-term maintenance costs.
  4. Adaptability: They can be customized in size and function (such as adding barrier-free facilities and baby-changing tables) to meet different scenario needs.

IV. Application Scenarios

  1. Temporary events: Music festivals, sports events, and other short-term activities can quickly deploy them to solve toilet problems during peak visitor flows.
  2. Construction sites: Construction sites, road maintenance sites, and other locations provide convenient sanitary facilities.
  3. Outdoor operations: Remote areas such as geological exploration and forestry operations solve basic living needs.
  4. Emergency rescue: After natural disasters, they serve as temporary sanitary facilities to protect the health of disaster victims.
