Dimensions of Public Mobile Toilets

Admin 03 de octubre de 2026

The dimensions of public mobile toilets vary depending on their type and functional requirements, primarily falling into two categories: overall external dimensions and internal functional area dimensions.

In terms of overall external dimensions, common single-stall mobile toilets have a relatively compact size, with lengths typically ranging from 1.2 meters to 1.5 meters, widths from 1.0 meter to 1.2 meters, and heights generally between 2.2 meters and 2.5 meters. This size design ensures basic usable space while facilitating transportation and installation. Multi-stall combined mobile toilets increase in size according to the number of stalls. For example, a two-stall unit may have a length of up to 2.4 meters to 3.0 meters, while maintaining a width of 1.0 meter to 1.2 meters; larger container-style mobile public toilets can have lengths exceeding 6 meters and widths exceeding 2.5 meters, suitable for locations with high foot traffic.

The dimensions and layout of internal functional areas must meet ergonomic and hygiene requirements. For the basic dimensions of the toilet area, the clear width should generally not be less than 0.85 meters, ideally reaching 0.9 meters to 1.0 meter to ensure sufficient turning and movement space for users; the clear depth should be guaranteed to be between 1.2 meters and 1.5 meters to avoid a cramped space; the door width should be no less than 0.6 meters to facilitate access for wheelchair users or those with mobility impairments. For accessible toilet stalls, the dimensional requirements are stricter, with the internal clear width typically needing to be over 1.5 meters and the clear depth over 1.8 meters to accommodate wheelchair rotation and the use of assistive devices. Additionally, the internal layout should consider ventilation, lighting, and ease of cleaning, such as by installing reasonable exhaust vents and lighting fixtures, as well as using floor and wall materials that are easy to clean.

These dimensional standards not only ensure the comfort and safety of users but also comply with accessibility design specifications for public facilities, reflecting consideration for the needs of diverse populations.
