Prepared Meals Sector:
Zhang Hezi Makes Moves in the Prepared Meal Market, with Industry Size Expected to Reach Trillions in Three Years. Recently, Zhang Hezi registered a new agricultural technology company with plans to enter the prepared meal sector, focusing on developing products such as instant rice and instant rice noodles. This move reflects the rapid growth trend of the prepared meal industry. It is predicted that the market size of prepared meals will exceed one trillion yuan within the next three years, becoming a significant growth point in the food industry. Meanwhile, the prepared meal market in Beijing has sparked heated discussions, with Luo Yonghao and Jia Guolong engaging in a public debate over prepared meals. The core controversy revolves around whether prepared meals are a “lifesaver for fast-paced living” or the “culprit behind reducing the ritual of dining”. Additionally, the debate covers key issues such as the “central kitchen” model (centralized production and unified distribution), the lack of “national standards” (industry norms to be improved), and “goodwill rights protection” issues (balancing corporate brand protection with consumer rights). These discussions indicate that while the prepared meal industry is rapidly expanding, it needs to address challenges related to standardization, quality supervision, and consumer perception.

House Rental Sector:
Landlords Bear Maintenance Obligations, with Rental Rights Auctioned for Meishan Properties Related to Prepared Meals. According to relevant provisions of the Civil Code, in house rentals, landlords are required to perform basic maintenance and upkeep obligations for the house and its附属设施 (ancillary facilities). For example, damage caused by natural aging of the leased property is generally the responsibility of the landlord for repairs; while tenants are required to use the house reasonably according to the agreement or the nature of the leased property. If damage is caused by improper use by the tenant (such as intentional destruction or违规操作 (non-compliant operation)), the tenant is responsible for compensation. This regulation clarifies the boundaries of rights and responsibilities between the two parties and provides a legal basis for rental disputes. Additionally, the rental rights for the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Prepared Meal Innovation Center in Meishan's “China Pickle City” were recently auctioned off, with Sichuan Chuanwei Food Industry Innovation Co., Ltd. winning the bid at a price of 477,400 yuan. This auction reflects the growing demand for venues among enterprises in the upstream and downstream of the prepared meal supply chain and also demonstrates the local government's strategy of promoting the clustering development of the prepared meal industry through industrial park construction. In the future, as the market size of prepared meals expands, demand for related property rentals may further increase, necessitating attention to the compliance of rental contract terms and the division of rights and responsibilities.
