Prefabricated Steel Structure House
A prefabricated steel structure house is a residential building that uses a steel structure system as its main load-bearing structure and adopts a prefabricated construction method, offering advantages such as lightness, earthquake resistance, and fast construction.

Structural Characteristics and Types
The core structure of a prefabricated steel structure house is a steel structure system, including steel frames, steel frame-brace forms, etc. Its load-bearing structure is made of steel, featuring high strength and lightweight properties. Its weight is only 1/3 to 1/2 of that of traditional concrete structures, significantly reducing the foundation load requirements and making it suitable for soft soil foundations or high-rise buildings. According to differences in usage and design, steel structure prefabricated houses on the market can be divided into three categories:
- Foreign trade light steel villas: These use cold-formed thin-walled steel as the main material and are assembled from standardized components, suitable for low-rise residences or vacation villas, with characteristics of rapid construction and detachable relocation.
- Hotel steel structure movable modular houses: These adopt a modular design, based on containers or steel frame units, and are combined through bolt connections, enabling rapid construction of temporary hotels, office spaces, or emergency housing. A single building can be installed within a few days.
- High-rise steel structure residences: These use steel frame-concrete core tube or pure steel frame systems to meet the earthquake and wind resistance requirements of high-rise buildings, commonly used in urban residential development, with space utilization rates 10%-15% higher than traditional structures.
Core Advantages
- Excellent earthquake resistance: Steel has good ductility and can absorb energy through elastic deformation under earthquake action. Its earthquake resistance design intensity can reach above 8 degrees, significantly higher than that of concrete structures.
- High construction efficiency: The prefabricated construction method allows components to be prefabricated in factories, with only bolt connections or welding required on-site. The construction period is 30%-50% shorter than that of traditional buildings, and it is less affected by weather conditions.
- Green and low-carbon: Steel can be 100% recycled, reducing construction waste; the construction process generates low dust and noise pollution, meeting sustainable development requirements.
- Flexible layout: Steel structures can have spans of over 12 meters without the need for load-bearing walls, allowing indoor spaces to be freely divided to meet personalized needs.
Application Scenarios
Prefabricated steel structure houses are widely used in emergency housing, tourism and vacation, commercial offices, and high-rise residences. For example, steel structure modular houses are often used as temporary shelters in earthquake-stricken areas; tourism scenic spots create characteristic homestays through light steel villas; in urban development, steel structure residences are gradually becoming a new choice for high-rise buildings due to their fast construction and high housing yield rates.
