How to Create Compartments in Prefabricated Panel Houses
The method for creating compartments in prefabricated panel houses should be selected based on the house structure, load-bearing requirements, and usage scenarios. Common methods include steel frame + prefabricated panel mezzanine, prefabricated panel partition wall construction, bathroom compartment construction on prefabricated hollow panel floors, and gap treatment, as detailed below:

1. Steel Frame + Prefabricated Panel Mezzanine
Suitable for scenarios such as LOFT apartments where a mezzanine floor needs to be constructed. Steel beams are used as the main load-bearing structure, paired with cement pressure panels (typically sized at 1.2 meters × 2.4 meters). During construction, ensure that the steel beams are reliably connected to the walls or existing structures, and the cement pressure panels are fixed to the steel frame with self-tapping screws to form a stable mezzanine. This method is lightweight and quick to construct, but the load-bearing capacity of the steel beams must be calculated in advance to avoid overloading.
2. Prefabricated Panel Partition Wall Construction
This process involves several steps:
- Tool and Material Preparation: Inspect the construction environment, prepare materials such as galvanized square tubes, prefabricated welded connectors, films, and varnishes, and complete the construction of the ground beam (the process involves marking lines → inserting steel bars → formwork erection → grouting → full grouting → formwork removal → curing).
- Mold Making: Weld a mold frame using galvanized square tubes and lay a film inside to prevent concrete adhesion.
- Prefabricated Panel Production: Place a steel mesh inside the mold to enhance structural strength, pour concrete and insert welded parts, and remove the mold after solidification.
- Installation and Fixing: Precisely align the embedded parts of the prefabricated panels with those on the ground beam, walls, and ceiling, and fix them by welding to ensure verticality and flatness.
- Surface Treatment: After installation, perform stone paving or plastering on the surface to enhance aesthetics and durability.
3. Bathroom Compartment Construction on Prefabricated Hollow Panel Floors
Pay attention to the following points:
- Material Selection: Prioritize the use of lightweight panels or filled walls to avoid floor cracking due to excessive loads.
- Elevation Treatment: Elevate the floor by 40 centimeters to reserve space for drainage pipes to run along the exterior wall.
- Drainage Pipe Laying: Ensure that the slope meets the specifications (usually not less than 1%), and the joints are tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
- Waterproofing Treatment: Apply a waterproofing agent mixed with cement mortar to the base layer, and after drying, apply an additional layer of waterproofing agent mixed with cement paste; when laying waterproofing membranes, use a torch to heat and bond the seams, or use non-woven fabric waterproofing (directly lay it after applying cement mortar).
4. Prefabricated Panel Gap Treatment
- During Assembly: Fill the gaps with non-shrink epoxy structural assembly adhesive to prevent cracking due to vibration or temperature changes later.
- Crack Repair: Chisel the surface plaster by more than 10 centimeters, chisel an inverted V-shaped groove, clean the dust, and level it with non-shrink epoxy repair adhesive; apply carbon fiber impregnating adhesive, paste carbon fiber cloth and scrape out air bubbles, and apply modified epoxy impregnating adhesive to the surface again to enhance the overall structural integrity.
Before construction, a professional should assess the structural safety of the house to ensure that the plan complies with building codes.
