Prefabricated Methods for Building Roofs

Admin 18 de septiembre de 2026

There are several main prefabricated methods for building roofs:

The first method involves using prefabricated channel steels and custom-made hollow bricks for roof capping. During construction, first arrange the prefabricated channel steels in sequence as roof beams. These channel steels should be custom-made in advance according to the size of the house. Then, place the custom-made hollow bricks between two channel steels. Similarly, the bricks should be customized according to the house dimensions, and no cutting is required when placing them at the edges. Finally, lay a layer of steel bars similar to thick iron wires on top of the bricks to enhance the stability and load-bearing capacity of the roof. This method is relatively simple to operate, and the high dimensional match of the prefabricated components can effectively reduce on-site construction errors.

The second method is to build a frame structure based on the roof peak. First, place thick wooden beams horizontally and connect them with iron plates. Then, cut square timbers to appropriate lengths and place them using slots to make them bear weight, forming a convex shape on both sides. After that, reinforce and support them one by one separately to form a preliminary frame structure. Cut openings on the sides, add wooden beams for connection, and make slot treatments, and then install wooden laths. After completing the frame, lay dust-proof tarpaulins and hem them, and finally place pressed plastic tiles. The roof built with this method has a unique shape, and materials such as wooden beams and plastic tiles have certain thermal insulation properties.

The third method is the prefabricated interlocking hollow brick assembly process for roof slabs. This process does not require concrete pouring or mortar plastering. Simply lay the hollow bricks one by one on the steel frame, and the roof can be formed. This process is relatively popular in arid regions such as the Middle East and Africa, mainly because of its fast construction speed, which can save a large amount of construction time and labor costs. At the same time, the structure of the hollow bricks is also conducive to ventilation and heat dissipation.

The fourth method is to build roofs for prefabricated panel houses using prefabricated panels as the main components. Prefabricated panels are cement components prefabricated in factories. When making them, first nail a model with wooden boards, then lay steel bars inside the model and pour cement to form two types of prefabricated panels: solid and hollow. When building the roof, hoist the prefabricated panels to the roof for splicing and installation. This method has a high degree of industrialization, and the quality and dimensions of the prefabricated panels can be well controlled, which is conducive to ensuring the overall quality of the roof.
