Prefabricated House Painting Process

Admin 19 de septiembre de 2026

The painting process for prefabricated houses mainly includes six steps: pretreatment, puttying, sanding, primer spraying, topcoat spraying, and post-treatment.

Pretreatment is the foundation of the entire painting process. It involves thoroughly cleaning the wall surface to ensure it is flat, dry, and free of oil stains. If there are cracks or significant unevenness on the wall, putty should be used to fill them, providing a good base for subsequent processes.

The puttying stage aims to further optimize the flatness of the wall surface. By using putty to level the wall, small gaps and locally uneven areas are filled, achieving a uniform and smooth state, which provides an ideal surface for subsequent sanding and painting.

The sanding process follows puttying. Sandpaper or a sanding machine is used to carefully sand the wall surface. This step eliminates the graininess and burrs of the putty layer, making the wall even smoother and more delicate. After sanding, the residual dust on the wall surface must be thoroughly cleaned to avoid affecting the subsequent painting effect.

Primer spraying is a crucial step to enhance the adhesion of the topcoat. The primer can seal the base layer, prevent alkali return, and provide a uniform absorption base for the topcoat. When spraying, a uniform coating thickness should be maintained to avoid sagging and ensure that the primer completely covers the wall surface and forms a stable protective layer.

Topcoat spraying directly affects the final visual effect of the house. After the primer is completely dry, the topcoat should be sprayed at the specified distance and angle, maintaining a uniform spraying speed and thickness. For ordinary latex paints or white-based light-colored coatings, it is usually recommended to apply two coats to achieve the ideal hiding power and film thickness, ensuring uniform color and consistent gloss.

Post-treatment is the final step of the painting process. A comprehensive inspection of the painted house is required, focusing on identifying defects such as blistering, missed coating, and sagging, and promptly repairing them. Through meticulous post-treatment, the wall paint film can be ensured to be complete and the surface smooth, ultimately presenting a high-quality painting effect.
