Prefabricated House Materials

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

The materials of prefabricated houses vary depending on the type, mainly including prefabricated panel houses, steel prefabricated houses, as well as overall structural materials such as steel structures, concrete, and wood.

Prefabricated Panel Houses: These houses primarily use prefabricated panels as their main components. Prefabricated panels are cement components made in factories. During production, a wooden model is first nailed together, and then steel bars are arranged and cement is poured to form the panels. There are two types of prefabricated panels: solid and hollow. Solid prefabricated panels have a relatively sturdy structure and can withstand large loads; hollow prefabricated panels, while ensuring a certain level of strength, reduce their own weight, lowering material and transportation costs.

Steel Prefabricated Houses:

  • Steel: It is the core load-bearing material of steel prefabricated houses, composed of cold-formed or hot-rolled steel beams, columns, and connectors. Since steel is prone to rust, it needs to undergo anti-rust treatment, such as galvanizing or spraying anti-corrosion coatings, to extend its service life.
  • Shell and Wall Materials: Usually, color-coated steel sheets or composite panels are used. Color-coated steel sheets have good waterproof, fireproof, and weather-resistant properties and are easy to install; composite panels combine the advantages of multiple materials and have superior performance. Insulation materials such as rock wool and glass wool are lined inside to effectively improve the house's thermal insulation performance. In addition, wall materials also include calcium silicate boards, mixtures of polystyrene particles and cement, metal cladding panels, rigid polyvinyl chloride plastic profiles, etc., which can be selected according to different needs.
  • Auxiliary Materials: These include expansion screws, welding rods, etc., used for connecting and fixing various components; thermal and sound insulation materials can further enhance the house's comfort; doors, windows, electrical, and water supply and drainage systems are necessary facilities to meet the basic usage functions of the house.

Materials under the Overall Concept of Prefabricated Houses: There are mainly three forms: steel structures, concrete, and wood. Steel structures are lightweight, suitable for ocean transportation and high-rise buildings, can be quickly erected and dismantled, and have high strength and stability; concrete materials are closer to the traditional living experience, have high acceptance in the domestic market, and have good durability and fire resistance; wooden materials give a natural and warm feeling, but attention needs to be paid to fire prevention and insect control.
