Disaster Application Scenarios of Prefabricated Houses

Admin 18 de septiembre de 2026

The main application scenarios of prefabricated houses in disaster relief include temporary shelter for disaster victims, on-site command centers, material storage and distribution points, medical emergency stations, rest and logistical support for rescue personnel, and on-site command and communication hubs.

Temporary shelter for disaster victims is one of the most core application scenarios of prefabricated houses. After disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and typhoons, traditional buildings may be severely damaged. Prefabricated houses, with their rapid construction capabilities, can provide sheltered living spaces for disaster victims in a short period. They can be equipped with basic living facilities such as beds, lighting, and power outlets inside, and even simple bathrooms can be installed when conditions permit to meet basic living needs. For example, after the earthquake in Dingri County, Tibet, an 18-square-meter mobile panel house could accommodate 3-4 people, becoming a “safe haven” for the affected population.

On-site command centers are the core hubs of rescue operations. Prefabricated houses can provide office, meeting, and communication spaces for fire departments, emergency management agencies, and other departments to ensure the efficient transmission of rescue instructions. Their structural robustness can withstand a certain degree of external impact, ensuring the stable operation of equipment. During the Dingri earthquake rescue, some mobile panel houses were used as on-site command centers by China Railway 21st Bureau Group, supporting the orderly conduct of rescue work.

The establishment of material storage and distribution points is a key link in disaster relief material management. Prefabricated houses, serving as temporary warehouses, can classify and store materials such as food, medicine, and rescue tools, and achieve orderly distribution through window and door designs to avoid chaos. Their airtightness can also prevent materials from getting damp or contaminated, ensuring storage safety.

The construction of medical emergency stations provides basic conditions for the treatment of the injured. Prefabricated houses can be quickly transformed into temporary clinics, equipped with emergency equipment, medicine, and rest beds to provide initial bandaging and treatment for the injured. During epidemics, they can also serve as triage points or isolation points for mild patients to reduce the risk of cross-infection.

Rest and logistical support for rescue personnel are important supports for maintaining rescue efficiency. Prefabricated houses can provide temporary rest, dining, changing, and washing spaces for firefighters, medical personnel, and others, alleviating their physical fatigue and ensuring sustained combat capability. Their modular design also supports rapid adjustment of functional areas to meet different needs.

The integration of on-site command and communication hubs is a technical guarantee for rescue operations. Prefabricated houses can be equipped with communication, monitoring, and data aggregation equipment to establish temporary command posts, ensuring smooth communication between the site and the outside world. Their disaster-resistant performance can also provide a stable operating environment for precision equipment, avoiding information interruptions caused by disasters.
