How Long Does It Take to Build a Prefabricated House?
The time required to build a prefabricated house varies significantly depending on the specific project and construction method, ranging from as short as a dozen days to as long as several months.

I. Rapid Assembly Cases Some prefabricated house projects can achieve extremely efficient construction speeds. For example, there are cases where using prefabricated components for assembly, the main structure was completed in just 14 days. The 63 sets of Chinese prefabricated elderly care apartments purchased by the UK were also fully assembled within 14 days after landing. Additionally, there are cases where a new prefabricated house was built in 15 days. These rapidly constructed projects typically share some common characteristics. The prefabricated components have undergone most of the processing and assembly work in the factory. Key components such as walls and floor slabs have already had connection points and pipeline interfaces reserved during factory prefabrication. On the construction site, workers only need to accurately assemble and fix these prefabricated components according to the design drawings, greatly shortening the construction period. Moreover, these projects are generally relatively small in scale and have a simple structure, not requiring complex construction techniques and a large amount of on-site wet work, thus enabling the entire construction process to proceed rapidly.
II. Relatively Longer Construction Cases However, not all prefabricated house projects can be completed in a short time. An old building in Xicheng District, Beijing, was rebuilt using the MiC (Modular Integrated Construction) method in less than half a year, with an average of one floor built every two days. Although building one floor every two days seems relatively fast, the overall half-year period is still much longer compared to the cases of a dozen days mentioned earlier. This is because the old building reconstruction project may involve more preliminary preparations, such as the demolition of the original building, site leveling, and foundation construction. At the same time, although the MiC modular integrated construction method is efficient, it may require more modules for assembly due to the large building scale and complex functional requirements. Moreover, during the assembly process, it is necessary to ensure the connection quality between modules and the stability of the overall structure, so more time is needed to complete the entire project.
In general, the time required to build a prefabricated house is influenced by a combination of factors such as building scale, structural complexity, construction techniques, and on-site conditions.
