Prefabricated Concrete House Beams
Prefabricated concrete house beams are load-bearing components made in advance in factories and play a crucial role in house construction.

Production and Installation Methods
Prefabricated concrete house beams are produced in factories in advance, ensuring consistent and stable quality. In the case of a South Korean construction team's renovation of a rural house, these beams, along with load-bearing columns and other prefabricated components, were lifted and assembled using cranes. This factory-prefabricated and on-site-assembled approach significantly shortens the construction period and improves construction efficiency. The beams are quickly connected using mortise-and-tenon joints, a traditional Chinese architectural connection method known for its strong connection and convenient installation. After connection, nuts are used for further fixation, enhancing the stability of the connection. The gaps are sealed with foam sealant, which has excellent sealing and filling properties, effectively preventing the entry of moisture and air, protecting the beams from erosion, and providing some thermal insulation. Subsequent secondary grouting is also used to enhance the overall integrity, allowing the beams to better integrate with the surrounding structure and improve the overall load-bearing capacity and stability of the house.
Load-Bearing Function and Principle
As a prefabricated horizontal load-bearing component, the concrete lintel is made of concrete and steel bars, with a load-bearing principle similar to that of prefabricated house beams. Concrete provides basic strength and hardness, while steel bars enhance its tensile strength, enabling the beam to withstand significant loads. In house structures, beams are mainly used to bear the loads of the upper structures of openings, such as the weight of walls and floors above doors and windows, and transfer these loads to the side walls. Through the supporting action of the walls, the loads are dispersed to the foundation, ensuring the stability and safety of the house structure.
Application Advantages
The application of prefabricated concrete house beams offers numerous advantages. In addition to the aforementioned shortened construction period and improved construction efficiency, factory prefabrication also reduces noise and dust pollution on the construction site, aligning with the concept of green construction. Moreover, since the beams are produced in factories, quality control is better, reducing quality issues caused by on-site construction conditions and improving the overall quality and service life of the house.
