Prefabricated Cement Component Houses

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

Prefabricated cement component houses are structures built primarily using prefabricated panels, which are factory-made cement components also known as reinforced concrete prefabricated structural members. Here is an introduction from multiple aspects:

Manufacturing Process: The process begins with creating wooden molds. Reinforcing bars are then placed inside the molds, and cement is poured in to form the prefabricated panels. These panels come in two types: solid and hollow. The hollow structure achieves lightweighting by reducing the amount of concrete in non-load-bearing sections, while maintaining structural strength and reducing material usage and the overall weight of the house.

Development History: This form of construction originated in the early 20th century. In China, residential buildings constructed before 1985 often adopted this type of structure, making it an important architectural form that met the demand for large-scale housing during a specific historical period.

Technical Characteristics: Cement components utilize dynamic concrete mix proportioning technology, which requires adjusting the mix ratio based on material properties such as sand and gravel gradation and cement grade, as well as construction conditions. Trials are conducted to ensure the strength meets standards. The industrialized production model shortens construction periods and reduces costs. The products boast high strength, strong weather resistance, and convenient construction. High strength enables them to withstand significant loads, ensuring the safety of the house structure. Strong weather resistance allows them to adapt to different climatic conditions, reducing damage from external factors. Convenient construction improves construction efficiency and accelerates house delivery.

Existing Issues: Existing prefabricated panel houses generally suffer from weak earthquake resistance. In the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes, the house structure is prone to damage, threatening the safety of occupants. They also have poor sound insulation and thermal insulation, affecting living comfort and increasing energy consumption. The service life is approximately 30-50 years, and house performance gradually declines over time.

Policy Orientation: Since 2022, China has implemented a policy of renovating old buildings, focusing on repairing and upgrading prefabricated panel houses and only demolishing those that meet the criteria for dangerous buildings. Through renovation and upgrading, the earthquake resistance, sound insulation, and thermal insulation of prefabricated panel houses can be improved, extending their service life and enhancing residents' living conditions.
