Power Cable Wattage for Mobile Toilets
Admin 12 de octubre de 2026
Mobile toilets generally use copper core cables ranging from 2.5mm² to 6mm², with the specific choice depending on power requirements and usage scenarios. Here are the detailed explanations:

Cable Diameter Selection Based on Power Requirements
The total power of mobile toilets typically ranges from 0.5 to 3kW, and the cable diameter must match the load capacity.
- 2.5mm² copper wire: Supports a load capacity of ≤3.5kW, suitable for scenarios requiring only lighting and ventilation without heating functions. If the mobile toilet is equipped with basic equipment (such as LED lights and small exhaust fans), this specification can meet the needs and is cost-effective.
- 4mm² copper wire: Supports a load capacity of ≤5kW and is the most recommended choice. It covers the vast majority of usage scenarios, including those equipped with low-power heating devices (such as electric heaters) or running multiple appliances simultaneously, balancing safety and cost-effectiveness.
- 6mm² copper wire: Supports a load capacity of ≤7kW, suitable for scenarios with high-power heating devices (such as air conditioners and electric water heaters). However, such demands are relatively rare and are typically required only in extremely cold regions or high-end mobile toilets.
Cable Type Selection Based on Usage Scenarios
- Fixed installation: It is recommended to use YJV copper core cables. These cables are wear-resistant, waterproof for outdoor use, and have a long lifespan (up to over 20 years), making them suitable for long-term exposure to outdoor environments and effectively resisting sunlight, rain, and mechanical damage.
- Temporary power supply (within 3 months): RVV sheathed flexible cables can be chosen. They are easy to install, flexible, and convenient for quick wiring and disassembly. However, they have poor sunlight resistance and will accelerate aging with long-term exposure, making them suitable only for short-term projects.
- Toilets with intelligent control panels: It is recommended to use RVVP shielded cables. These cables are wrapped with a shielding layer on the outer layer, effectively preventing electromagnetic interference and ensuring the stable operation of intelligent devices (such as sensors and automatic flushing systems), avoiding malfunctions caused by signal interference.
- Prohibition of ordinary BV wires: Ordinary BV wires (single-core rigid wires) are prone to aging and cracking due to sunlight and rain in outdoor environments, often showing insulation layer damage within half a year, leading to the risk of electric leakage and seriously threatening usage safety. Therefore, their use is absolutely prohibited.
Summary and Recommendations
Prioritize selecting the cable diameter based on power requirements: choose 2.5mm² for basic functions, 4mm² for conventional configurations, and 6mm² for high-power heating. Then, select the cable type based on the usage scenario: use YJV for long-term fixed installations, RVV for temporary use, and RVVP for intelligent devices. Proper matching can ensure the safe and stable operation of mobile toilets.
