Portable Toilet

Admin 21 de septiembre de 2026

A portable toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and provides toilet services to the public. It is suitable for various places, has multiple types and advantages, and its design follows certain principles. There are also cases of homemade portable toilets.

Suitable Places

Portable toilets are suitable for stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential communities, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets. These places often have a high flow of people, and the demand for toilet facilities is either temporary or fixed but requires flexible arrangement. Portable toilets can well meet these needs.

Composition and Structure

Generally, they are composed of fecal sewage storage tanks (or fecal sewage treatment devices), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. These components work together to provide users with complete toilet functions.

Development History and Types

Initially, they were made of materials such as wood, with simple structures and functions and were prone to absorbing odors. Later, they gradually developed to use materials such as fiberglass and polyethylene. According to the structural form, they can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets; according to the moving method, they can be divided into hoisting and handling mobile toilets, powered and towed mobile toilets; according to the sewage treatment method, they can be divided into water-flushing and non-water-flushing suction-type mobile toilets, circulating water-flushing mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets.

Advantages and Design Principles

They have advantages such as being movable, combinable, and easy to transport. They can be conveniently transported to any place where toilets need to be installed and can be used repeatedly. Their design should follow the principles of being easy to move, economical and durable; being environmentally friendly and beneficial to the environment; improving efficiency and promoting humanity. The overall structure should be considered lightweight, using lightweight and durable materials as much as possible. The structure should be sturdy. When designing, the height and width of the toilet should also be controlled, and the mobile device should be fully considered for completeness and rationality.

Homemade Cases

There are cases of homemade portable toilets. For example, a young man used a water storage tank and a pallet to make a portable toilet. By fixing universal wheels at the bottom of the pallet, placing and modifying the water storage tank, and installing a toilet, a faucet, a washbasin, a showerhead, and other facilities, a portable toilet was finally formed. Another young man used a water storage bucket to make a portable toilet.
