Pinghe Construction Site Portable Toilet Installation

Admin 05 de octubre de 2026

The installation of portable toilets at the Pinghe construction site should follow these key steps and precautions:

Site Selection and Evaluation
Prioritize areas with high usage frequency, such as near the entrances and exits of living or work zones, while keeping them away from open-flame work areas, material storage areas, and power distribution facilities to avoid safety hazards. The installation site should be flat and slightly elevated above the surrounding ground to prevent rainwater from flooding in. If near rivers or water sources, ensure sufficient buffer distance between the toilet and the water source protection area to prevent water pollution. Additionally, consider the accessibility of temporary roads to ensure smooth entry and exit of cleaning vehicles for daily maintenance.

Foundation Preparation
If installing on a dirt surface, compact the soil first and lay a 10-15 cm thick gravel bed to enhance foundation stability. For soft soil or backfilled areas, further reinforcement is needed, such as pouring a concrete base or setting up prefabricated cement piers. If placing on a hardened surface (e.g., concrete), check the ground levelness to prevent structural deformation of the toilet due to tilting. Reserve positions for the septic tank or sewage outlet during foundation preparation for easy subsequent pipe connection.

Transportation and Placement
Use professional vehicles for transportation and secure the container with ropes or straps to prevent damage from bumps. Use lifting straps instead of steel wires for hoisting to avoid scratching the exterior. Ensure the container is level during placement, using a level gauge for verification. Adjust the shims promptly if tilting is detected. Unified command is required for collaborative work by multiple people to ensure stability. The door of the container should face away from the prevailing wind direction and avoid main traffic lanes to reduce odor impact and traffic obstruction.

Pipe Connection
Flush toilets require connection to water supply and drainage pipes: PPR or PE pipes are recommended for the water supply, with burial depth below the frost line or insulation measures taken. The drainage pipe should maintain a slope of no less than 2% to ensure smooth flow of sewage into the septic tank. All connections should be tightly sealed, and regular checks for leaks are necessary. For non-flush toilets, ensure the fecal collection container is placed stably and sealed well for easy cleaning and replacement.

Ventilation and Lighting
The toilet should maintain good ventilation, with exhaust fans or ventilation ducts installed, and the exhaust outlet facing away from people. For lighting, if the toilet does not have built-in lighting fixtures, install it in a well-lit area. For nighttime use, connect to temporary lighting circuits, using waterproof and explosion-proof lamps, with the wiring protected by pipes and firmly fixed.

Lightning Protection and Grounding
In areas prone to thunderstorms or open construction sites with metal-structured toilets, install an independent lightning rod to cover the toilet area. The metal frame should be grounded, with a grounding resistance of no more than 10 ohms, to prevent static electricity or electric leakage risks.

Signage and Safety
After installation, hang signs in prominent positions, including gender differentiation and usage precautions. If the toilet is near vehicle traffic areas, set up warning posts or reflective stickers, and add warning lights if visibility is insufficient at night.
