Reinforcement Methods for Old Prefabricated Board Houses

Admin 19 de septiembre de 2026

There are various reinforcement methods for old prefabricated board houses, and an appropriate plan should be selected based on the actual situation of the house. The following are common reinforcement methods:

Wall and Floor Reinforcement

  • Grouting Reinforcement Method: Grouting into walls or foundations can fill internal voids, enhance overall strength and stability, improve seismic performance, and effectively prevent deformation or crack formation.
  • Steel Mesh Reinforcement Method: Laying steel mesh on walls or floors increases the structural integrity through the tensile action of the steel, improving load-bearing capacity and stability, and enhancing seismic performance.
  • Steel Plate Bonding Method: When cracks or deformations occur in walls or floors, steel plates are bonded to the surface, utilizing the strength of the steel to increase the load-bearing capacity and stability of the structure.
  • Carbon Fiber Bonding Method: Bonding carbon fiber cloth to the surface of floors or walls, carbon fiber has high strength and lightweight characteristics, effectively improving the load-bearing capacity of the structure.
  • Plywood Reinforcement Method: Using plywood reinforcement techniques, through the collaborative work of the plywood and the original structure, the stability of the structure is improved.

Foundation Reinforcement

  • Enlarging Foundation Size and Deepening Foundation: By expanding the foundation base area or deepening the foundation depth, the load-bearing capacity of the foundation is increased, improving the stability of the house.
  • Adding Steel Mesh: Adding steel mesh to the foundation enhances its tensile and shear resistance, improving the load-bearing capacity of the foundation.
  • Adding Reinforcement Agents or Foundation Sealing Materials: Adding reinforcement agents to the foundation can increase its strength, while foundation sealing materials can prevent moisture intrusion, improving the durability and seismic resistance of the foundation.

Structural Modification Reinforcement

  • Section Steel Reinforcement Method: Setting section steel along the four corners under the prefabricated board, transforming the prefabricated board into an octagonal support, effectively improving the load-bearing capacity of the floor.
  • Wall-to-Beam Conversion Method: Through structural modification, converting walls into beam structures, changing the load transfer path of the structure, and enhancing the overall stability of the house.
  • Adding Structural Columns: Adding structural columns at the four corners of the house, typically with a cross-section of 240*240 millimeters, reinforced with No. 6 and No. 8 steel bars, and connected to the floor, improving the seismic performance of the house.
  • Floor Joint Treatment: Removing the original filling material, implanting No. 6 threaded steel bars, and pouring C30 fine aggregate concrete to enhance the connection strength of the floor joints.
  • Rebar Grouting Treatment: Performing rebar grouting treatment on exterior walls to strengthen the load-bearing capacity and tensile properties of the walls.
  • Adding Support Reinforcement Method: Reinforcing walls or roofs by adding supports to improve load-bearing capacity and stability, preventing deformation or cracks.
  • Temporary Support System: Setting steel pipe supports every 1.2 meters along the length of the prefabricated board, using H-section steel beams for key node replacements, with a beam cross-section of no less than 200*200 millimeters, ensuring safety during construction.

During the reinforcement process, appropriate reinforcement materials and methods should be selected to ensure construction quality, and comprehensive quality inspections and acceptance should be conducted after the reinforcement is completed.
