Principle of No-Flush Mobile Toilets

Admin 08 de octubre de 2026

The principles of no-flush mobile toilets mainly include packaging, biodegradation, circulation filtration and chemical treatment, two-stage treatment technology, as well as foam blocking, vacuum adsorption, chemical agent types, etc. Details are as follows:

Packaging Technology: It achieves sealed collection of excreta through mechanical devices. Taking a stainless-steel foot-operated packaging toilet as an example, when the user steps on the pedal, the linkage device drives a biodegradable plastic bag pre-laid in the toilet to wrap the excreta, without the need for water flushing throughout the process. The plastic bag has good sealing properties, effectively preventing the overflow of odors. The collected excreta are transported to professional treatment facilities for harmless treatment or resource utilization.

Biodegradation: It utilizes specific microbial strains to decompose excreta under suitable conditions. Microorganisms convert organic matter into water and carbon dioxide through metabolic activities, partially achieving the reduction and harmlessness of excreta. This technology requires the control of environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and oxygen content to ensure microbial activity and is suitable for scenarios with high environmental protection requirements.

Circulation Filtration and Chemical Treatment: It achieves resource recycling through a combination of physical separation and chemical treatment. The liquid part is purified and then used for toilet flushing in a循环 (circulation) manner, reducing water consumption; the solid part is separated and stored for regular cleaning. Some systems add biological enzymes or disinfectants to accelerate the decomposition of organic matter and inhibit the growth of pathogens.

Two-Stage Treatment Technology:

  • Urine Treatment: Urine is collected separately through a separator, and chemicals are automatically added for sterilization, disinfection, deodorization, and coloring treatment, generating odorless light blue liquid as a flushing solution to achieve the resource utilization of urine.
  • Fecal Treatment: After being mixed with the flushing solution, feces undergo multiple processes such as crushing, stirring, sterilization, and disinfection, and are finally converted into a paper-pulp-like odorless fluid for subsequent treatment or discharge.

Other Types:

  • Foam Blocking: An air pump mixes air with a foaming agent to form a dense foam layer on the surface of a squat toilet. Excreta slide into the lower pipe after falling, and a single foaming process consumes only about 0.1 liters of liquid, resulting in significant water-saving effects.
  • Vacuum Adsorption: A vacuum pump is used to create a negative pressure environment in the pipe, instantly sucking the waste into the main pipe and transporting it to the treatment tank. This method has high treatment efficiency and no odor diffusion.
  • Chemical Agent: Chemical agents are added to the fecal storage tank to decompose excreta through oxidation and neutralization reactions, while inhibiting odors and bacterial growth. This method is suitable for temporary or mobile scenarios.
