New-type Prefabricated Panel Building

Admin 18 de septiembre de 2026

Prefabricated panel buildings are still in use in the construction of new-type houses, and their technology is constantly improving, addressing many issues of traditional prefabricated panel houses.

Originally, prefabricated panel buildings referred to residential buildings that used prefabricated concrete floor slabs as the main components of the floor. They were commonly seen in urban residential buildings from the 1970s to the 1990s. With the development of construction technology, cast-in-place concrete and prefabricated buildings have gradually replaced traditional prefabricated panel houses, but related technologies for prefabricated panels are still evolving and being applied in the construction of new-type houses.

Problems with traditional prefabricated panel houses: Existing traditional prefabricated panel houses generally have issues such as weak earthquake resistance, poor sound and heat insulation, and a service life of about 30 - 50 years. Due to these problems, some regions have initiated demolition work. Since 2022, China has implemented a policy of renovating old buildings, focusing on repairing and renovating prefabricated panel houses and only demolishing those that meet the criteria for dangerous buildings.

Improvements in new-type houses using prefabricated panel-related technologies: New-type houses using prefabricated panel-related technologies are continuously addressing the problems of traditional prefabricated panel houses. For example, prefabricated buildings use modular factory-prefabricated components. CMC combined modular buildings enhance earthquake resistance through steel-concrete integral pouring, and the construction period is 30% shorter than traditional methods. This construction approach not only improves the earthquake resistance of the buildings but also enhances construction efficiency.

Development and export of China's prefabricated houses: China's 'prefabricated houses' achieve the transformation of houses from 'on-site construction' to 'factory manufacturing' with industrial standards, digital precision, and automated efficiency, just like building cars. This is the underlying logic behind the global surge in orders for China's 'prefabricated houses'. According to statistics, in the first four months of 2026, enterprises in the Guangzhou Customs area exported mobile houses worth 1.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.1%; in the same period, the Shenzhen port exported mobile houses worth 1.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%. This indicates that China's prefabricated house technology has strong competitiveness in the international market.
