New Style Container House Sizes

Admin 14 de septiembre de 2026

The common size specifications of new-style container houses are diverse, mainly divided into three categories: standard sizes, customized sizes, and sizes of shipping container modifications. The following provides an explanation from the perspectives of specific sizes, application scenarios, and characteristics:

I. Standard Container House Sizes

  1. 3m × 3m × 2.8m: With an area of 9 square meters, it is suitable for small temporary buildings such as single-person dormitories or tool storage rooms. Due to its relatively small size and low material utilization rate, it is usually only custom-produced when customers have special requirements.
  2. 6m × 3m × 2.8m: With an area of 18 square meters, it is the most common standard size on the market. It is widely used for temporary offices or accommodations in construction sites, road construction, and other scenarios. Its interior space can accommodate 6 bunk beds, meeting the living needs of about 8 people.
  3. 7m × 3m × 2.8m: With an area of 21 square meters, it is mostly used for two-story container mobile homes, equipped with corridors and balconies, and is suitable as long-term living or management housing.

II. Customized Container House Sizes Designed flexibly according to customer needs, common specifications include:

  • 3m × 8m, 3m × 9m: Suitable for scenarios requiring larger lateral space, such as conference rooms and dining rooms.
  • Length, width, and height of 14m × 3.5m × 3.2m: Based on transportation dimensions to meet the space requirements of special projects. Customized sizes need to be determined through consultation with the manufacturer, and prices vary greatly depending on factors such as materials and craftsmanship.

III. Sizes of Shipping Container Modifications Based on international standard shipping containers, common specifications are as follows:

  • 20-foot container: Inner dimensions of 5898mm × 2352mm × 2390mm, outer dimensions of 6058mm × 2438mm × 2591mm, with a load-bearing capacity of about 25 tons.
  • 40-foot container: Inner dimensions of 12024mm × 2352mm × 2390mm, outer dimensions of 12192mm × 2438mm × 2591mm, with a load-bearing capacity of about 45 tons.
  • 40-foot high-cube container: The inner height is increased to 2655mm, and the outer height is 2896mm, suitable for scenarios requiring higher space.

IV. Other Special Sizes

  • Packing-type container house: Inner dimensions of 5880mm × 2840mm × 2500mm, using galvanized steel structures and color-steel sandwich panels, suitable for rapidly deployed temporary buildings.
  • Open-top containers/flat-rack containers: For example, the inner volume of a 20-foot open-top container is 5.89m × 2.32m × 2.31m, suitable for scenarios requiring top openings or special loading.

Selection Suggestions:

  1. First, determine the size according to the usage scenario. For example, for temporary offices, a 6m × 3m standard container can be selected, and for long-term living, a 7m × 3m two-story house can be considered.
  2. When customizing sizes, weigh costs against needs to avoid excessive pursuit of large space leading to material waste.
  3. For shipping container modifications, pay attention to the internal height limit to ensure it meets ergonomic requirements.
