New Style Container House Design

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

The new style of container house design focuses on material selection, structural mechanics synergy, environmental sustainability, and flexible adaptation to various scenarios.

I. Material Selection and Structural Optimization

The new style of container houses uses high-strength weathering steel (such as Q355B grade) as the main frame, with a yield strength approximately 30% higher than that of ordinary carbon steel. This allows a single container body to form a self-balancing system through rigid connections between corner fittings and side beams, even when the length-to-width ratio approaches 2:1. For example, the longitudinal corrugated plates on the top of the container body disperse stress through their corrugated geometry, preventing local buckling and reducing material usage by about 15%. The enclosure structure adopts a three-layer composite construction of 'rock wool-air layer-aluminum-zinc coated steel plate'. The rock wool layer, with a thickness of 75-100 millimeters and a thermal conductivity below 0.040 W/(m·K), combined with a 5-millimeter air layer to suppress convective heat transfer, results in an overall heat transfer coefficient (U-value) below 0.5 W/(m²·K), effectively reducing condensation risk and extending the lifespan of the steel structure.

II. Connection Nodes and Seismic Design

For areas with high seismic fortification intensity, the new design introduces a dual fixation mode of 'wedge-shaped lock + high-strength bolt'. The wedge-shaped lock, made of 45# steel through heat treatment with a slope angle of 15 degrees, generates a self-locking effect under horizontal shear forces. Actual measurements show that the displacement of this node is controlled within 3 millimeters in shaking table tests simulating rare earthquakes of magnitude 8, which is about 40% better than the deformation amplitude of conventional welded nodes. Moreover, it supports repeated assembly during secondary relocation, reducing construction waste.

III. Environmental Protection and Sustainability

The new style of container houses enables rapid construction through modular assembly and convenient transportation, and can be flexibly relocated according to demand. For example, an office composed of three containers has an area of about 45 square meters, with an efficient layout featuring independent workstations, conference tables, and storage space. After reuse and renovation, the steel structure reduces the consumption of traditional building materials, with less construction noise and waste, aligning with the trend of green buildings. Additionally, the coating system uses a combination of 'epoxy zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat'. The primer contains over 80% zinc powder, and the topcoat has a hardness of 3H. After 1000 hours of salt spray testing, no red rust appears, supporting a 25-year service life for the main structure of the container body.

IV. Scenario Adaptation and Installation Efficiency

To meet the needs of different scenarios, the new design optimizes installation efficiency and layout flexibility. For example, the quick-assembly containers from Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. take only 2 hours to install a single unit and support on-demand assembly and combination, allowing the completion of 10 standard dormitory buildings within one day. Their packing containers have interior finishes pre-installed before leaving the factory and can be used immediately upon on-site hoisting, making them suitable for long-term on-site projects.
