A narrow container house can be improved through methods such as rational space planning, customizing special-sized containers, adopting open designs, and utilizing outdoor spaces.

• Rational internal space planning: Carefully plan the internal space of the container and use multi-functional furniture. For example, use foldable tables and chairs, which can be folded up when not in use to increase the activity space; customize beds with storage functions, design the bed board to be liftable, and use the space below for storing clothes, bedding, and other items to improve space utilization. In some small container house cases, through rational planning, multiple functions are combined in a small living room space to meet daily leisure, reading, and dining needs.
• Customizing special-sized containers: If conditions permit and it complies with transportation and other relevant regulations, consider customizing containers with a greater width. However, containers with a width exceeding 2.5m are usually considered oversized cargo, and transportation will be restricted. It is necessary to fully consider factors such as road width to ensure smooth transportation to the designated location.
• Adopting open designs: Reduce the partitions inside the container and adopt an open design concept to make the space visually more spacious. For example, design the living room, dining room, and kitchen in an open space to enhance the sense of openness. In some container renovation cases, the overall integrated design reduces the barriers in the space, making the small space less confined.
• Utilizing outdoor spaces: Expand the outdoor space to increase the usable area. Outdoor areas such as patios and balconies can be set up outside the container, and hydraulic decks can be installed to achieve flexible conversion between indoor and outdoor spaces. For example, in some container houses, one side of a container can be fully extended, and an electric hydraulic system is used to form a deck patio area, increasing the activity space.
