Waterproofing of Multiple Container Houses

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

For the waterproofing of multiple container houses, it is essential to focus on material selection, construction techniques, and post-construction maintenance. Specific measures are as follows:

1. Waterproof Material Selection and Construction Specifications
It is necessary to select waterproof materials that meet standards, such as waterproof membranes and sealants, and ensure reasonable construction techniques. For example, container joints, areas around doors and windows, and roof gutters should be fully sealed with sealants, ensuring continuous sealing at joints. In southern rainy or coastal areas, it is necessary to enhance the waterproofing techniques for roofs and edge closures, such as increasing the number of waterproof membrane layers or using overlapping methods that allow water to flow smoothly. Substandard materials or improper construction (such as aging of sealants or waterproof gaskets on fasteners) are common causes of water leakage, so it is crucial to strictly control material quality and construction details.

2. Structural Design and Drainage Optimization
Container houses should be designed with appropriate drainage slopes to prevent water accumulation. For example, roof gutters should maintain a horizontal slope to ensure rapid drainage of rainwater; outlets should be cleaned regularly to prevent blockage by debris, which could lead to backflow. A lack of slope in gutters or improper outlet design can cause water accumulation and leakage, so structural optimization should be carried out during the construction phase to mitigate risks.

3. Post-Construction Maintenance and Seal Renewal
Regular maintenance of waterproof seals is necessary:

  • Sealant Replacement Cycle: Sealants around doors and windows and at joints should be replaced every 5-7 years;
  • Cleaning and Inspection: Clean roof leaves annually to prevent water corrosion of steel plates; inspect welds, corners, and other rust-prone areas, and immediately sand and repaint any rust spots found;
  • Corrosion Protection: Adjust the corrosion protection cycle based on environmental humidity (8-12 years in dry inland areas, 7-10 years in humid southern areas, and 3-5 years in coastal areas requiring reapplication of anti-corrosion paint).

4. Enhanced Waterproofing for Special Scenarios
For mobile container houses in cultural tourism attractions, camping sites, etc., it is necessary to enhance roof waterproofing techniques, such as using high-density thermal insulation rock wool filling and thermal break insulation techniques to block heat conduction, while adding soundproof and shock-absorbing seal layers to improve overall sealing. During movement or renovation, avoid stepping on the roof to prevent loosening of fasteners, which could damage the original waterproof structure.
