Modular Concrete Prefabricated House
A modular concrete prefabricated house is a type of building where the main structure and enclosure components are prefabricated in a factory and then transported to the site for assembly and connection. It offers advantages such as short construction periods, good earthquake resistance, and environmental friendliness, and has been widely applied in various scenarios.

Construction Process
The main body of the house is pre-cast into individual concrete components in the factory and then connected like building blocks during construction. Taking a two-story reinforced concrete raw house as an example, workers first assemble the molds, apply mold release agents, place steel reinforcement meshes and connectors, fill with concrete, vibrate and level it, and then cover it with a plastic greenhouse to promote cement hydration through heating. After the prefabricated components are completed, they are transported to the site. Before construction, a foundation needs to be laid by digging a pit about 1 meter deep, laying a moisture-proof PE film, and pouring "discarded concrete" as the base. After solidification, guide steel plates are installed to position the prefabricated concrete piles, and finally, large prefabricated concrete floor slabs are installed.
Advantages
- Significantly Shortened Construction Period: With standardized design, factory-based production, and assembly-based construction, the construction period can be significantly shortened. For example, a rural house can be built in 14 days, and the overall construction cycle can be reduced by about 50% compared to traditional methods. The Shenzhen Longhua Huazhang Xinzhu affordable housing project took only 365 days from earthwork entry to fine decoration delivery.
- Good Earthquake Resistance: Modular concrete prefabricated houses focus on earthquake resistance in structural design and construction techniques, effectively withstanding natural disasters such as earthquakes.
- Environmentally Friendly: They can reduce construction waste by about 80% and promote a 75% reduction in construction waste compared to traditional methods. The Shenzhen Longhua Huazhang Xinzhu affordable housing project was awarded the Low-Carbon Building and Ultra-Low Energy Consumption Building标识 (identification), and was selected for the National Key Promotion List of Low-Carbon Technologies.
Application Cases
The Shenzhen Longhua Huazhang Xinzhu affordable housing project is the first modular building project in the country to win the Zhan Tianyou Award, the first concrete modular high-rise building, and the high-rise affordable housing project with the fastest construction speed. On May 8, 2026, the first concrete module hoisting was completed for the affordable rental housing project at the Dinghuisi North Plot in Haidian District, Beijing. This project is the first concrete modular affordable housing project in Beijing and the first concrete modular project in Haidian District.
Application Scenarios
They have been widely applied in various scenarios such as residential buildings, schools, and hospitals. Many places in China, such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen, have introduced policies to promote their application and development.
