Mobile Vehicle Toilet Design

Admin 07 de octubre de 2026

The design of mobile vehicle toilets primarily focuses on space utilization, functional integration, and user experience, with the core goal of solving toilet challenges during long-distance travel through concealed structures and multifunctional configurations.

Design location and storage method represent fundamental innovations in vehicle toilets. Typically concealed beneath seats, they employ a sliding rail hidden design. When in use, the toilet body is pulled out via the sliding rails and pushed back into place after use, occupying almost no effective space inside the vehicle. For example, Seres' patent for vehicle toilets combines fixed and sliding rails, installing the fixed rail on the upper part of the toilet body and connecting the sliding rail to the vehicle seat, achieving seamless integration of the toilet with the seat structure. This design fully utilizes the idle space beneath the seat, addressing the issues of large space occupation and interference with interior layout in traditional vehicle toilets.

Functional configuration is key to enhancing practicality. Vehicle toilets are equipped with sealed waste collection tanks to effectively collect waste and prevent odor leakage; negative pressure deodorization systems reduce odor concentration inside the cabin through air circulation; and constant temperature heating ensures comfort during winter use. Some designs also incorporate disposable waste bags and foldable privacy curtains, with the former simplifying the cleaning process and the latter protecting user privacy through physical barriers. Seres' solution integrates these functions to form a complete chain of “collection-deodorization-temperature control-privacy protection,” significantly improving the user experience in long-distance travel scenarios.

The design intent stems from the long-range capabilities and suitability for long-distance self-driving of new energy vehicles. For scenarios such as highway traffic jams during holidays and off-road camping in remote areas, vehicle toilets can solve users' toilet needs, avoiding travel interruptions or safety hazards caused by searching for public restrooms. Additionally, when traveling with elderly people or children, sudden toilet needs are more prominent, and the immediate availability of vehicle toilets effectively alleviates this pain point.

In terms of technical features, Seres' solution excels in high integration and strong concealment. By optimizing the connection structure between the toilet body and the seat, the toilet is fully “embedded” beneath the seat, achieving visual “invisibility.” This design not only enhances the interior aesthetics but also reduces safety risks during driving by minimizing protruding components, making it the most practical vehicle toilet solution currently available.
