Mobile Toilets for Camping
There are various options for mobile toilets when camping, which can be selected according to different needs and scenarios:
Portable Toilets: These are specially designed for portability. They typically consist of a seat, a frame, and a detachable waste bucket or bag. Some models also come with a tent to provide privacy. Their advantage lies in offering an experience relatively close to that of a home bathroom, making them suitable for family self-drive camping or RV travel scenarios. They are convenient to carry and comfortable to use.
Disposable Emergency Bags: These bags are pre-filled with coagulants or degradants, which have water-absorbing or solidifying functions. When in use, waste is directly discharged into the bag, which is then sealed and discarded as ordinary garbage. They are characterized by their small size and light weight, making them ideal for hikers and backpackers who need lightweight gear. They are also suitable as emergency reserves for unexpected needs.
Simple Pit Toilets: In wilderness areas where primitive camping is allowed, choose a location far from water sources, campsites, and trails. Dig a shallow pit about 15 to 20 centimeters deep, and after use, mix the waste with soil and bury it. When using this method, it is essential to strictly adhere to the outdoor ethics principle of 'Leave No Trace' to protect the natural environment and avoid ecological damage.
Small Folding Toilets: These have a simple structure, usually consisting of a lightweight metal or plastic frame that can be unfolded to form a toilet seat. Collection bags, such as disposable emergency bags or thickened garbage bags, can be placed underneath. They combine the comfort of portable toilets with the convenience of collection bags, making them a compromise choice for backpack camping. They are not overly heavy while still providing a certain level of comfort.
Vehicle-mounted Mobile Toilets: There are various styles available, such as folding vehicle-mounted toilets for outdoor camping emergency use, portable emergency camping toilet stools for vehicles, etc. Prices range from 9.5 yuan to 203 yuan. Some products have features like odor prevention, sealing, and flushing, making them suitable for use in vehicles and providing convenience for campers.
Prefabricated Mobile Toilets: For example, the four-squat toilet produced by Dezhou Hongtu Metal Products Co., Ltd. is 4 meters long and 2.3 meters wide, with a pointed roof. The exterior walls are made of thermal-insulating metal carved panels. The men's toilet has two squat positions, a urinal, and a sink, making it suitable for public places such as scenic campsites. There is also the Apple Cabin toilet, which can be customized in terms of the number of squat positions according to needs. It has rainproof facilities in front and public sinks, meeting the usage needs of larger groups of people.
