Mobile Toilet Tile Repair
Admin 22 de septiembre de 2026
The method for repairing tiles in mobile toilets should be selected based on the extent of the damage, as detailed below:

Minor Damage
- Minor cracks or small chipped pieces: Use a repair agent. First, clean the cracked area to ensure it is free of dust and debris. Then, fill the crack with the repair agent and, once fully dry, sand and polish it to achieve a smooth surface.
- Small pits or cracks on the tile surface: Use tile adhesive for repair. Apply the tile adhesive evenly over the cracks or pits and, once dry, proceed with subsequent treatments such as sanding or cleaning.
- Cracked tile edges: Use silicone sealant for repair. Apply the silicone sealant evenly over the broken tile surface, ensuring full coverage of the cracks. Once fully dry, sand it smooth to restore the flatness of the tile edge.
Hollow Sound Issues
- Hollow sound at tile edges: Use grout injection for repair. Pry open the tile gaps and pour thin cement grout into them. Gently tap the tiles with a small rubber mallet to ensure the grout fills the hollow areas, securing the tiles tightly to the substrate.
- Hollow sound in the middle of the tile: The tile needs to be removed and relaid. Use a suction cup to lift the hollow tile straight out or break it from the middle and carefully pry it out with a crowbar, avoiding damage to surrounding tiles. Then, relay the tile according to specifications.
- Minor and out-of-the-way hollow sound: If it does not affect use or aesthetics, it can be left untreated, but regular observation is necessary to prevent the hollow area from expanding.
- Large-area hollow sound (one-third or more of the tile area): The substrate needs to be redone and the tile relaid. Chisel open the cement layer on the wall or floor, redo the substrate, and then relay the tiles. In this case, the construction party usually bears the labor and material costs.
Severe Damage
- Tile cracked into multiple pieces: The tile needs to be replaced. Use cutting tools to separate the adjacent tiles, avoiding damage to surrounding tiles. Then, use a mixed mortar to adhere the new tile and, once dry, apply matching paint to the surface to match the color of the surrounding tiles.
- Tile completely loose: Reapply adhesive material. Use a scraper to remove the original adhesive layer, ensuring the substrate is flat and clean. Then, reapply adhesive material and lay the tile, pressing firmly to secure it.
- Large-area deep cracks: Use a repair agent for repair. After cleaning the tile surface, apply the repair agent, ensuring it covers all cracks. Once dry, sand it to restore the flatness of the tile surface.
Repair Precautions: Clean tile debris, select appropriate materials based on the extent of the damage, apply evenly for strong adhesion, press and secure after the repair material dries, and finally sand it smooth. After repair, wait at least 24 hours for it to dry before use to ensure a lasting repair effect.
