Structure of Mobile Toilets

Mobile toilets are generally composed of movable support structures, water storage or sewage discharge devices, toilet facilities, and auxiliary components. Below are the construction methods for two self-made examples:

Construction Method Using Water Storage Tanks and Pallets

• Movable Support Structure: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the pallet bottom to enable easy movement of the entire toilet. The pallet serves as the basic support for placing the recycled water storage tanks.
• Water Storage Tank Modification: Cut the top of the water storage tank to form an open tank. Stack two open-top water storage tanks upside down and secure the outer frame with self-tapping screws to form the main space of the toilet. Cut a rectangular opening in the wall as the doorway for easy access.
• Toilet and Water Facility Installation: Drill a hole in the interior floor, insert an elbow and water pipe, and seal it. Install and secure the toilet. Fix the water pipe on the wall with clips and install a faucet, connecting it to the drain outlet below. Use a stainless steel basin to make a sink, fix it on the pipe cap, connect the toilet tank and shower hose, and install a toilet seat and spray-type showerhead to meet basic needs such as toilet use and hand washing.
• Door Fabrication and Installation: Make a door using wooden boards and hinges and install a door handle to ensure privacy in the toilet.

Construction Method Using Water Storage Buckets

• Movable and Support Structure: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board and secure wooden strips and self-tapping screws to the upper side of the bucket to increase height, forming a movable support structure with a certain height.
• Water Storage Bucket Modification: Use an angle grinder to split the water storage bucket in half. Cut an opening on the side of the bucket, install sponge strips on both sides of the doorway to form a door frame, embed plastic soft boards between the wooden strips to form an elevated wall, and place the upper half of the bucket on top of the wooden strips as the roof.
• Internal Facility Installation: Use foam strips to拼接 (Note: '拼接' means 'splice' or 'join together', here translated as 'assemble') discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door. Drill a hole in the bottom of the bucket, install a drain pipe to form a floor drain, drill a hole on the side to connect a direct joint, place a plastic bucket on the roof to form a small water storage device, and connect a water pipe-made bath heater. Install a three-way joint below the inlet pipe and connect a showerhead. Place the toilet and install the tank, secure the toilet with glass glue, connect the drain pipe to the sewage bucket, and horizontally connect a water pipe from the three-way joint of the outlet pipe to the doorway as the inlet pipe for the sink.
