Mobile Toilet Split Dry Latrine

Admin 09 de octubre de 2026

There is a type of dry latrine in mobile toilets, but 'split dry latrine' is not a widely recognized standard classification term, and there is a lack of a clear definition and detailed description of it in publicly available materials. The following analysis is carried out from the perspectives of mobile toilet classification, dry latrine characteristics, and possible split designs associated with them:

Common Classification Methods of Mobile Toilets

Mobile toilets can be classified into various types based on their structural forms and functional configurations. Single-unit mobile toilets usually consist of a single independent compartment equipped with basic toilet facilities. They are suitable for places with dispersed pedestrian traffic, such as corners of parks and temporary event venues. Their advantages include a small footprint and flexible mobility, but the number of toilet stalls is limited. Modular mobile toilets, on the other hand, are formed by modular assembly to create multiple toilet stalls. They can be flexibly combined according to actual needs and can even be equipped with facilities such as hand-washing sinks and urinals to meet the usage requirements of places with high pedestrian traffic, such as large-scale event sites and construction sites.

Application of Dry Latrines in Mobile Toilets

Some mobile toilets adopt a dry latrine design. These toilets generally do not rely on a water-flushing system but instead achieve environmental protection and hygiene through special fecal treatment methods. For example, in some rural toilet renovation projects, mobile dry latrines with a dual-pit alternating use design are used. After one pit is used for a certain period, it undergoes fermentation treatment by covering it with soil. Once it is converted into organic fertilizer, the other pit is activated, and the used pit is cleaned and rested. This design not only reduces water consumption but also enables the resource utilization of feces.

Speculation on 'Split Dry Latrines'

Although there is currently no clear definition of 'split dry latrines', based on its literal meaning, it may refer to a design that separates certain functions or structural parts of mobile dry latrines. For example, separating the fecal storage part from the toilet space and connecting them through pipes or other means. This can ensure the cleanliness of the toilet space while facilitating the treatment and cleaning of feces. However, this design needs to address issues such as sealing and odor control and may not be very common in practical applications at present.
