How to Connect Pipes for Mobile Toilets
The connection of pipes for mobile toilets should be carried out in accordance with the following steps to ensure the safety and reliability of the drainage system:

Material and Tool Preparation Select PVC-U pipes with an outer diameter of 110mm and an inner diameter of 103mm (socket-and-spigot connection), along with matching elbows, tees, straight connectors, and other fittings, as well as PVC-specific adhesive, rubber rings, waterproof flanges, and weather-resistant sealant. Tools include a tape measure, handsaw or pipe cutter, pencil, sandpaper, electric drill, pipe clamps, or expansion bolts. For winter construction, additional insulation materials should be prepared to prevent pipe freezing and cracking.
Planning Drainage Path and Slope Design the drainage direction based on the bathroom layout, ensuring that the main pipe has a slope of 2%-5% (i.e., a drop of 2-5 cm per meter) to avoid water accumulation. The use of right-angle elbows is strictly prohibited; 45° elbows should be used instead to reduce water flow resistance. When connecting branch pipes to toilets, sinks, and floor drains, use tees and other fittings to connect to holes in the main pipe.
Pipe Cutting and Pre-treatment Measure the pipe length with a tape measure and mark it. Cut along the marked line using a handsaw or pipe cutter, ensuring a flat cut. Sand the inner and outer burrs of the pipe end with sandpaper to prevent scratching of seals or affecting adhesive bonding.
Pipe Assembly and Fixing
- Main Pipe Installation: Apply special adhesive to the pipe spigot and fitting socket, quickly insert and rotate 90 degrees, and maintain pressure for 10-15 seconds for initial fixation. Drill holes along the planned path using an electric drill, install pipe clamps or expansion bolts, and fix the main pipe to the floor or wall. Adjust the slope again to meet requirements.
- Branch Pipe Connection: Based on the location of sanitary fixtures, use tees to drill holes in the main pipe. Apply adhesive and tighten the connection between the branch pipe and the main pipe to ensure tightness.
Sanitary Fixture Connection
- Toilet: Connect to the drain outlet through a flange ring (wax seal or rubber material). The flange ring is crucial for preventing leaks and must match the pipe size.
- Sink and Floor Drain: Connect to the branch pipe using a hose or PVC pipe. Install rubber gaskets and pipe clamps at the connection points, tighten them, and check for looseness.
Downpipe Installation and Sealing
- Choose a well-ventilated and easily drained location for downpipe installation, ensuring sufficient space at the pipe end. Connect one end of the downpipe to the sewage outlet of the mobile toilet and extend the other end outdoors. The interface size and type must strictly match.
- Apply sealant at the connection point, cover it evenly, and press firmly to ensure a tight fit. The downpipe must be kept horizontal or vertical; excessive inclination can cause sewage backflow.
Anti-seepage and Insulation Treatment Install a waterproof flange at the connection between the pipe and the bathroom base and fill the gap with weather-resistant sealant. In winter, wrap insulation around the pipe to prevent brittleness caused by low temperatures.
System Testing and Acceptance After installation, visually inspect all connections for integrity and pipes for deformation. Conduct a water flow test, fill with water, and observe for leaks. The drainage flow rate should be ≥0.6m/s to avoid sedimentation. The test time should be no less than 30 minutes to ensure stable system operation.
