Operating Costs of Mobile Toilets
Admin 08 de octubre de 2026
The operating costs of mobile toilets mainly include daily operating expenses, periodic maintenance costs, and other cost factors, as detailed below:

I. Daily Operating Expenses
Daily operating expenses vary depending on the operating model, which can be divided into leasing and self-maintenance models:
- Leasing Model:
Suitable for short-term or medium-term use scenarios (such as construction sites, exhibitions, and scenic spots), with costs categorized by type. The annual cost for an ordinary single-stall toilet is approximately 6,000 to 18,000 yuan, for a standard flush toilet it is about 12,000 to 36,000 yuan, and for a luxury/smart toilet it can reach 36,000 to 200,000 yuan. If a comprehensive leasing package (including cleaning, waste removal, operation and maintenance, and consumables) is chosen, an additional annual expenditure of 10,000 to 18,000 yuan is incurred. - Self-Maintenance Model:
Suitable for long-term fixed locations (such as scenic spots, parks, and factory areas), with the annual average cost per unit detailed as follows:- Cleaning Labor: Approximately 60,000 yuan per year in first-tier cities, and 18,000 to 36,000 yuan per year in third-tier cities.
- Consumables: Expenses for toilet paper, hand soap, etc., range from 5,000 to 8,000 yuan per year (calculated based on an average daily attendance of 500 to 1,000 people).
- Garbage Bags and Cleaning Agents: 1,000 to 3,000 yuan per year.
- Equipment Repairs: 2,000 to 5,000 yuan per year (e.g., 200 to 500 yuan per repair for a clogged flush toilet, and about 2,000 yuan per replacement for a smart module).
- Structural Maintenance: 1,000 to 3,000 yuan per year (including anti-corrosion treatment and seal replacement).
- Water and Electricity Fees: Approximately 20 yuan per year for water-saving models, 3,000 to 5,000 yuan per year for water-flush models, and almost no water consumption for foam-sealing models.
- Waste Removal and Pumping: 3,000 to 7,200 yuan per year (150 to 300 yuan per removal, with an average of 20 to 24 removals per year).
- Total Cost: 20,000 to 40,000 yuan per year for basic models (without smart features), 50,000 to 80,000 yuan per year for high-end smart models, and up to 100,000 yuan per year for high-traffic locations.
II. Periodic Maintenance Costs
These include the replenishment of daily consumables, energy expenses, deep cleaning, facility maintenance, and technical system maintenance:
- Daily Consumables: Regular replenishment of toilet paper, hand soap, garbage bags, and sanitary ware disinfectants.
- Water and Electricity Fees: Directly related to usage frequency and equipment energy consumption levels.
- Deep Cleaning and Maintenance: Involves labor service costs, such as surface cleaning of facilities and anti-corrosion treatment.
- Technical System Maintenance: Includes the replacement of filter materials and bacterial supplements in the sewage purification unit, as well as software updates and hardware inspections for the smart control system.
III. Other Cost Factors
- Usage Intensity: The density of foot traffic affects consumable consumption, facility wear and tear, and the load on the sewage system, with high-frequency usage increasing daily average costs.
- Environmental Factors: In low-temperature areas during winter, anti-freezing insulation for water supply pipelines or the installation of heating equipment is required, increasing energy costs.
- Upgrade and Replacement Costs: Technological iterations necessitate updates to the control system, and stricter environmental standards require the installation of additional sewage treatment units. When the box structure reaches the end of its service life, it needs to be dismantled, removed, and disposed of.
