Follow-up on Mobile Toilets

Admin 20 de septiembre de 2026

The follow-up situations of mobile toilets vary across different regions, as detailed below:

"Tidal Toilets" at West Lake Scenic Area in Huizhou, Guangdong: Previously, the "tidal toilets" in this scenic area attracted attention due to their adjustable signs. Currently, all adjustable signs in the involved tidal toilets have been removed. Subsequently, they will be replaced with fixed slot-type door plates. Compared to adjustable signs, these fixed slot-type door plates can more clearly and accurately display the usage status of the toilets, reducing the inconvenience caused to tourists by unclear signs. Meanwhile, the scenic area will also introduce multiple measures to address the issue of long queues for female toilets during holidays. For example, they may adjust the usage ratio of male and female toilets reasonably based on passenger flow at different times, increasing the available stalls in female toilets; or arrange staff to guide during peak hours to improve toilet usage efficiency and enhance tourists' restroom experience.

Mobile Toilet in the Parking Lot of Linpu Town, Hangzhou, Zhejiang: The town government responded that this is a temporary mobile toilet provided by the construction party. Subsequently, it will be managed in a standardized manner, with specific measures including posting large signs to clearly indicate that it is a temporary toilet and inform citizens of its purpose and opening hours, enabling citizens to clearly understand the relevant information about the toilet. The construction team will decide whether the mobile toilet is open to the public based on the progress of the construction site, balancing citizens' restroom needs while ensuring the normal construction requirements of the site, and avoiding inconvenience to citizens due to unclear information.

Mobile Toilet on the Seaside in Jinfeng Town, Fuzhou, Fujian: The operator initially adjusted the price from 10 yuan per use to 2 yuan per use. However, after the incident escalated, the container was pulled back in the middle of the night and is currently suspended from use. This incident reflects that the operation and management of mobile toilets need to be more standardized and reasonable, considering not only price factors but also fully taking into account public acceptance and feedback. Whether it will be reactivated and how to manage it more scientifically in the future remain to be further observed and decided.
