Position of the Drainage Hole in Mobile Toilets

Admin 08 de octubre de 2026

The position of the drainage hole in mobile toilets can be adjusted using a toilet offset connector, whose core function is to resolve the mismatch between the reserved drainage outlet and the toilet's drainage outlet.

Working Principle of Toilet Offset Connectors

A toilet offset connector is a type of pipe fitting that connects the reserved drainage outlet to the toilet's drainage outlet, enabling forward, backward, left, or right adjustments of the drainage hole position. Its original design intent is to address installation challenges arising from mismatches between pipeline layouts and toilet models during renovation, such as scenarios involving offset reserved outlets or space constraints.

Offset Distance and Specification Limitations

  • Conventional Offset Range: The offset distance for ordinary toilet offset connectors typically ranges from 2 cm to 15 cm, with common specifications on the market being 5 cm, 10 cm, and 15 cm. These specifications can meet the renovation needs of most households, such as slightly adjusting the toilet position to avoid ground obstacles or optimize bathroom layout.
  • Risks of Long-Distance Offsets: Some special models claim to achieve offsets of up to 3 meters, but long-distance offsets can lead to multiple issues:
    • Insufficient Drainage Slope: Increased pipeline length slows down water flow, making it prone to sewage retention or even blockage.
    • Increased Pipeline Complexity: Additional elbows or changes in pipeline direction may be required, potentially damaging the original waterproof layer or increasing leakage risks.
    • Greater Installation Difficulty: Long pipelines demand more precise slope control, imposing higher requirements on construction techniques and significantly increasing long-term maintenance costs.

Alternative Solutions for Offsets Exceeding 15 cm

If an offset distance exceeding 15 cm is required, professionals recommend the following methods:

  • Re-laying Sewer Pipes: Break open the floor to re-lay pipelines, ensuring the drainage slope meets standards (usually not less than 2%). This method is costly but offers the best stability, suitable for new home renovations or complete renovation scenarios.
  • Using Wall-Mounted Toilets: The drainage outlet of a wall-mounted toilet is located inside the wall, connected to the main sewer pipe via a concealed cistern and horizontal pipe. This allows flexible position adjustment without occupying floor space. However, wall structure planning must be done in advance, and the slope of the horizontal pipe must be reasonable.

Practical Application Recommendations

When selecting an offset connector, prioritize measuring the actual offset between the reserved drainage outlet and the toilet's drainage outlet, and reserve an adjustment margin of 2-3 cm. Ensure tight connections between the offset connector and pipelines during installation, avoiding the use of inferior adhesives or sealing materials. For long-distance offset requirements, be sure to consult professional plumbers and electricians to comprehensively evaluate costs, construction difficulty, and long-term usage risks before making a decision.
