Mobile Toilet Door and Window Dimensions

Admin 21 de septiembre de 2026

The dimensional requirements for doors and windows of mobile toilets are as follows:

Door Dimensions The door opening dimensions of mobile toilets must meet basic passage requirements. The conventional design requires a minimum door opening width of no less than 0.70 meters and a height of no less than 2.00 meters (the height of the door opening refers to the measurement from the high ground level, excluding the height of the transom above the door). If a steel door frame or sliding door structure is used, the door opening width can be relaxed to 0.60 meters. For different door-opening methods, the dimensional requirements are further refined:

  • Single-direction sliding doors: A minimum clear width of at least 650 millimeters must be reserved to ensure smooth passage for people. The actual door opening height is usually between 1.95 and 2.15 meters and needs to be adjusted according to the floor height of the toilet. The clear width of a single-sided door opening should be at least 700 millimeters, and the actual door width should reach 1300 millimeters to meet the needs of two-way passage or equipment transportation.
  • Double-direction sliding doors: A total width of 2200 millimeters must be reserved to ensure that the two doors can be opened simultaneously without obstructing passage, which is suitable for public mobile toilets with high pedestrian traffic.

Window Dimensions Window dimensions should be designed comprehensively considering ventilation, lighting, and structural stability. The common standard is 50 cm (width) × 30 cm (height). The specific choice should take into account the following factors:

  • Ventilation requirements: If the internal space of the toilet is small or the usage frequency is high, the window area can be appropriately increased, for example, using dimensions of 60 cm × 40 cm to enhance air circulation efficiency.
  • Lighting requirements: When natural lighting is insufficient, the window width can be extended to 70 cm, and the height should be maintained between 30 and 40 cm to balance lighting and privacy protection.
  • Structural limitations: Window dimensions should match the wall thickness and material strength to avoid structural instability caused by oversized window openings. At the same time, installation space should be reserved to ensure the airtightness between the window frame and the wall.

Design Considerations

  1. The height of the door opening should be based on the high ground level to avoid insufficient actual height due to ground level differences.
  2. A 5-10 millimeter installation gap should be reserved for the sliding door track to prevent difficulties in opening and closing due to thermal expansion and contraction or construction errors.
  3. It is recommended to use frosted or filmed glass for windows to balance lighting and privacy protection. If the windows are designed to be openable, mosquito screens or limit devices should be equipped.
  4. For special scenarios (such as barrier-free mobile toilets), according to the passage requirements of wheelchairs, the door opening width should be extended to more than 0.90 meters, and the threshold height should be reduced to within 15 millimeters.
