How Mobile Toilets Dispose of Waste

Admin 20 de septiembre de 2026

There are various waste disposal methods for mobile toilets, with the following being common ones:

Direct discharge and fecal tanks are relatively basic waste disposal methods. The direct discharge method requires connection to water supply and drainage pipes, directly discharging feces and other waste into the sewer system. This method relies on well-established water supply and drainage infrastructure and is suitable for urban areas with corresponding conditions. Fecal tanks collect feces inside the tank. When the tank is nearly full, specialized cleaning equipment is used to transport and dispose of the feces. This method is relatively flexible and not restricted by water supply and drainage pipes, but requires regular cleaning of the fecal tank.

Conventional flush-type mobile toilets need to be connected to water supply and drainage pipes, achieving waste disposal through manual or automatic sensing. The sewage is discharged into septic tanks or municipal sewer networks. They are suitable for various water-rich environments, such as urban parks and squares. This method has relatively low construction costs, mature technology, and is convenient to use, but requires supporting water supply and drainage facilities and septic tanks and other treatment equipment.

The vacuum sewage system uses negative pressure principles for waste disposal. A vacuum pump sucks sewage and waste into a collection container. When the sewage in the public toilet reaches a preset water level, the vacuum pump automatically starts. This method is efficient and uses less water, effectively preventing sewage leakage and odor diffusion. It is suitable for places with high hygiene requirements and water restrictions, such as high-end scenic spots and large-scale event venues.

The water-storage sewage system discharges waste into a storage tank through flushing. When the sewage reaches a preset water level, the flushing device automatically starts. When the storage tank is full, it needs to be cleaned and replaced. It is suitable for places with sufficient water sources and easy cleaning, such as some temporarily constructed construction site toilets.

In addition, some mobile toilets use biodegradation technology to convert organic matter in sewage into harmless substances before discharge. Others use vacuum suction pumps or sealed fecal suction trucks for waste disposal. The vacuum suction pump is installed below the toilet body and sucks up excreta through pipes, while the sealed fecal suction truck can transport feces to sewage treatment plants for processing. In some remote or poorly conditioned areas, traditional drainage ditches may be used to discharge fecal water, but regular cleaning and maintenance of the ditches are required to ensure smooth flow.
