Mobile Toilet Disinfection
The disinfection methods for mobile toilets mainly fall into two categories: physical disinfection and chemical disinfection. The specific operations and precautions are as follows:

Physical Disinfection
1. High-Temperature Disinfection
Use high-temperature steam generated by a steam generator (recommended temperature ≥ 80°C) to spray on surfaces such as toilets and sinks for 3-5 minutes to kill bacteria and viruses. If treating feces, ensure the temperature reaches above 80°C and is maintained for more than 30 minutes. This method is environmentally friendly with no residue, but it is necessary to strictly control the steam temperature and time to avoid deformation or damage to the facilities.
2. Ultraviolet Disinfection
Turn on the ultraviolet lamp (wavelength 200-280nm) during periods when the toilet is not in use. Disinfection is achieved by destroying the DNA structure of microorganisms. The irradiation range should cover fecal treatment equipment and the interior surfaces of the toilet, with an exposure time of no less than 30 minutes. Note: Ultraviolet light should not be directly exposed to the human body, as it may cause skin burns or eye damage.
Chemical Disinfection
1. Chlorine-Based Disinfectants
- 84 Disinfectant: Dilute it in a ratio of 1:100-1:200 and spray it on the floor, walls, and toilets. After 30 minutes to 1 hour of action, rinse with clean water.
- Bleaching Powder: Dilute it to a ratio of 1:100-1:200 and spray it. The action time is the same as above.
- Sodium Hypochlorite: With an available chlorine content of 500-1000mg/L, spray and maintain for 30 minutes.
Chlorine-based disinfectants are highly oxidizing but may corrode metal or plastic facilities. They should be diluted strictly according to the ratio and the residue should be rinsed off.
2. Peracetic Acid
Dilute it to a concentration of 0.5%-1% and spray or wipe it. After action, rinse with clean water. Note: Peracetic acid is highly corrosive. When operating, wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles to avoid contact with the skin and eyes.
3. Alcohol Disinfection
Wipe high-frequency contact areas such as door handles and faucets with 75% alcohol to quickly kill bacteria without leaving residue. Warning: Alcohol is flammable and should be kept away from fire sources and high-temperature environments during use.
4. Chlorine Dioxide
Dissolve 5-10mg per cubic meter of water and spray it. After 30 minutes of action, it is suitable for disinfecting air and surfaces.
Precautions
- Personnel Safety: Ensure that the toilet is unoccupied during disinfection. Operators should wear protective clothing, gloves, masks, and goggles.
- Ventilation: After disinfection, open the windows for ventilation for more than 30 minutes to reduce the concentration of residual disinfectants.
- Regular Maintenance: It is recommended to clean daily and disinfect comprehensively weekly, focusing on high-contamination areas such as toilets and door handles.
- Equipment Protection: Check the heat resistance of facilities before high-temperature disinfection and rinse promptly after chemical disinfection to prevent corrosion.
