Recommended Design Sizes for Mobile Toilets

Admin 11 de octubre de 2026

The design sizes of mobile toilets need to be determined according to their types and usage scenarios. The following are common recommended sizes:

I. Classification by Toilet Type

  1. Single-unit Mobile Toilet

    • Length: 1.2 - 1.5 meters, suitable for scenarios with limited space and relatively low demand.
    • Width: 1.0 - 1.2 meters, ensuring enough space for turning around and installing equipment inside.
    • Height: 2.2 - 2.5 meters, meeting the requirements for ventilation and equipment installation while avoiding a sense of oppression.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Construction sites, small-scale events, temporary exhibitions, etc., mainly for short-term and high-frequency use.
  2. Double-unit Mobile Toilet

    • Length: 2.4 - 3.0 meters, accommodating two independent toilet compartments and aisles.
    • Width: 1.2 - 1.5 meters (some designs still use 1.0 - 1.2 meters), adjusted according to the layout of the toilet compartments.
    • Height: 2.2 - 2.5 meters, the same as that of single-unit toilets, ensuring good internal air circulation.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Large-scale events, tourist attractions, etc., meeting the needs of multiple people using them simultaneously.
  3. Multi-functional Mobile Toilet

    • Length: 3.0 - 4.5 meters, integrating functional areas such as toileting, hand-washing, and management.
    • Width: 2.0 - 2.5 meters, reserving space for equipment maintenance and personnel passage.
    • Height: 2.5 - 3.0 meters, adapting to the installation of ventilation systems and lighting equipment.
    • Applicable Scenarios: High-end events, long-term fixed locations (such as parks and service areas), emphasizing comfort and functionality.

II. Size Specifications for Internal Functional Areas

  1. Toileting Area

    • Net Width: Should not be less than 0.85 meters, with an ideal range of 0.9 - 1.0 meters, ensuring normal activities for users.
    • Net Depth: 1.2 - 1.5 meters, accommodating a toilet, a trash can, and legroom.
    • Door Width: Not less than 0.6 meters, meeting the requirements for wheelchairs or equipment to enter and exit.
  2. Barrier-free Toilet Compartment

    • Internal Net Width: Should reach more than 1.5 meters, reserving space for wheelchair turning and the operation of assistive personnel.
    • Net Depth: Should reach more than 1.8 meters, adapting to the installation of barrier-free toilets and handrails.
    • Design Points: It should adopt a swing door or an outward-opening design to avoid occupying internal space.

III. Design Considerations

  1. Space Utilization: Adjust the number of toilet compartments according to the frequency of use to avoid overcrowding or waste of resources.
  2. Ventilation and Lighting: The height should be adapted to the ventilation system, and the width should ensure coverage by natural or artificial light.
  3. Barrier-free Design: Public places should set up barrier-free toilet compartments in accordance with regulations to ensure convenience for special groups.
  4. Material Selection: Waterproof, anti-slip, and easy-to-clean materials should be selected to extend the service life and reduce maintenance costs.
