Mobile Toilet Construction Standards

Admin 08 de octubre de 2026

The construction standards for mobile toilets should be comprehensively considered from five aspects: design specifications, structural materials, functional configurations, accessibility requirements, and adaptability to special types:

I. Design Specification Basis
According to the 'Urban Public Toilet Design Standard' (CJJ 14-2016), mobile toilets (classified as movable public toilets) must strictly adhere to the general provisions, basic requirements, and design specifications outlined in the standard. Specifically, clauses 4.2.7 (spacing of sanitary facilities), 4.5.4 (ventilation), 5.0.11 (lighting coefficient), and 7.0.1 (barrier-free design) are mandatory and must be implemented. For example, ventilation design should ensure a minimum of 5 air changes per hour, and the lighting coefficient standard value should be at least 2% to ensure a healthy usage environment.

II. Structural and Material Standards
The main frame should be constructed using steel to ensure structural stability and resistance to wind and earthquakes. The exterior wall materials should preferably be galvanized steel or stainless steel, offering both corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal. The interior should be filled with insulation materials such as rock wool or polyurethane to adapt to different climatic conditions. The floor should be laid with non-slip flooring (e.g., PVC or rubber) and equipped with a waterproof layer to prevent leakage and slipping risks. For example, in cold regions, the insulation layer thickness should be increased to over 50mm.

III. Functional Configuration Requirements
Basic configurations should include a lighting system (brightness ≥ 200lx), safety sockets, a distribution box, and an exhaust fan. Optional configurations such as inverter air conditioners (temperature control range 18-28℃), low-position coat hooks (height ≤ 1.2m), and emergency call devices (response time ≤ 30 seconds) can be added to enhance comfort. For example, mobile toilets in scenic areas can be equipped with background music systems, while those on construction sites require enhanced ventilation and dust control designs.

IV. Accessibility Facility Specifications
If accessibility standards are required, they should be implemented in accordance with the 'General Code for Accessibility in Buildings and Municipal Engineering' (GB 55019-2021):

  1. The interior net area should be ≥ 4.00㎡, with a wheelchair turning space diameter of ≥ 1.5m;
  2. Equipped with barrier-free toilets (height 450-500mm), washbasins (with a clearance of ≥ 650mm underneath), multifunctional tables (height 700-850mm), and low-position coat hooks;
  3. Doors should be horizontally sliding or outward-opening flat doors (net width ≥ 0.8m) to ensure quick opening in emergencies.

V. Adaptability Standards for Special Types
For environmental protection needs, microbial degradation toilets (which decompose excreta using bacteria without the need for flushing) or recirculating water flush toilets (where sewage is treated and reused) can be adopted. Luxury mobile toilets can be equipped with smart toilets, air purification systems, and decorative lighting, suitable for high-end events or commercial settings. For example, mobile toilets at music festivals can be equipped with sound systems, while those in desert areas should prioritize water-saving ecological toilets.
