Mobile Toilet Construction Methods

Admin 24 de septiembre de 2026

The construction methods for mobile toilets mainly involve using water storage barrels or tanks combined with auxiliary materials. There are two typical solutions as follows:

I. Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Barrel

  1. Basic Frame Construction Split a water storage barrel in half lengthwise and choose one half as the main structure. Install universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to form a movable base, ensuring overall stability. Increase the height on the side of the barrel using wooden strips and self-tapping screws to create a space suitable for human use. Cut a rectangular opening on the side as the doorway and install a sponge strip to form a door frame, improving airtightness.

  2. Wall and Roof Construction Insert plastic soft boards as wall materials, utilizing their flexibility to fit the curvature of the barrel, and secure them with glue or clips. The upper half of the retained barrel serves directly as the roof, with a waterproof paint applied to its surface to prevent rainwater penetration and enhance appearance neatness.

  3. Drainage and Water Supply System Drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel to install a drainpipe, forming a floor drain structure, and connect it to a side outlet for easy sewage discharge. Place a plastic bucket on top as a water storage device, connected via pipes to the toilet tank and shower. For heating functionality, a simple bath heater can be made using pipes, with a three-way connector linking to the shower for flushing. The toilet should be fixed inside the barrel, with the drainpipe connected to a separate sewage tank to avoid environmental pollution.

II. Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

  1. Movable Base and Tank Processing Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of a plastic pallet to form a movable platform. After cleaning, use an angle grinder to cut the top of a recycled water storage tank to create an open tank. Stack two tanks and secure the outer frame with self-tapping screws to increase the internal space height.

  2. Functional Area Division and Installation Cut a rectangular opening on the side of the tank as the doorway. Drill a hole in the internal floor to install an elbow and pipe, connecting to the toilet and securing it with glue to prevent leaks. Fix pipes and faucets on the wall using clips, and install a stainless steel basin below as a sink, connecting to the toilet tank and shower hose to form a circulating water system.

  3. Door and Detail Refinement Make a door using wooden boards and hinges, and install a door handle for easy opening and closing. Add storage shelves or hooks inside to enhance practicality. The overall structure should be checked for airtightness to ensure no odor leakage.

III. Classification Expansion of Mobile Toilets

Mobile toilets can be classified by structure into single-unit (independent) or composite (multi-unit combination) types; by mobility into hoisting (requiring lifting equipment), manual (human-powered), or powered towing (vehicle-towed) types; and by sewage treatment into water-flush (requiring a water source), waterless suction (vacuum suction), or circulating water-flush (sewage purification and reuse) types. Different types are suitable for scenarios such as tourist attractions, construction sites, and disaster areas, and the construction plan should be selected based on actual needs.
