How to Handle a Collapsed Mobile Toilet
The handling of a collapsed mobile toilet depends on whether it is rented or owned, as detailed below:

Rented Mobile Toilet
If the mobile toilet is rented, according to Articles 712 and 713 of the Civil Code, the landlord is responsible for the routine maintenance of the leased property. You should immediately contact the landlord to address the collapse issue, while taking photos and videos of the scene as evidence. Clearly state that the collapse was not caused by human factors and carefully review the relevant clauses in the lease agreement to ensure your rights and interests are protected.
Owned Mobile Toilet
When your own mobile toilet topples over, you should immediately stop using it and conduct a comprehensive assessment:
- Observation and Shaking Test: Visually inspect the degree of tilt and gently push the water tank or base with your hand to check for any significant shaking or gaps with the ground.
- Check for Leaks: Quickly flush water into the mobile toilet and carefully observe whether there is any rapid seepage of water stains at the joint between the base and the ground, as well as around the ground.
- Look for Damage or Cracks: Carefully inspect the ceramic body, especially the stressed parts such as the base and water tank, to see if there are any new or enlarged cracks.
After completing the assessment, take appropriate measures based on the specific situation:
- Slight Shaking: You can attempt to handle it yourself. Confirm the degree of unevenness. If the height difference is within 5 millimeters, you can level it. If it is due to loose fixing bolts, use a wrench to tighten them evenly and moderately. If it is due to uneven terrain, place a special rubber gasket at the low part of the base. After treatment, reseal it. Remove the old, aged, and blackened glass glue around the base, clean the joint and ensure it is dry, then apply a circle of high-quality neutral mold-resistant glass glue. After applying the glue, let it stand for more than 24 hours until the glue is completely cured before using it again.
- Serious Situation: If the mobile toilet has toppled over, is severely tilted, has cracks in the ceramic body, or has serious leaks, a thorough repair is required. It is usually advisable to hire a professional technician to handle it. The process includes closing the angle valve and draining the stored water; disassembling the mobile toilet; cleaning the old flange ring (wax seal); checking and treating the ground flatness; replacing the new flange ring; realigning and leveling it with the sewage outlet for installation; and finally sealing it with glue. If the ceramic body has cracks that cannot be repaired or the structure is damaged, the most reliable solution is to replace it directly.
