Mobile Public Toilet Suspension
The suspension of mobile public toilets may involve various reasons, primarily including damage to facilities due to natural factors and facility upgrades and replacements.

I. Damage to Facilities Due to Natural Factors In cold regions, low winter temperatures are a common influencing factor. Taking the mobile public toilet in Urumqi Cultural Park as an example, the toilet became unusable due to frozen sewer pipes in winter. This was mainly because the construction unit did not take effective insulation measures, and the sewer pipes were buried shallowly. In low-temperature environments, the water in the shallowly buried sewer pipes is prone to freezing, which then blocks the pipes, preventing the toilet's sewage system from functioning normally, and ultimately forcing it to suspend operations. In such cases, it is usually necessary to wait for the weather to warm up and the ice in the pipes to melt before organizing maintenance personnel to inspect and repair the pipes to ensure they resume normal functioning before reopening to the public.
II. Facility Upgrades and Replacements With technological advancements and increasing demands for public service quality, public toilets are continuously being upgraded and renovated. For example, at Shenzhen Bay Port, the original public restrooms were suspended from use due to the trial operation of newly built smart public restrooms. The newly built smart public restrooms typically offer more functions, such as smart sensing devices, better ventilation systems, and more user-friendly designs, providing citizens with a more comfortable and convenient restroom environment. In such cases, the suspension of the original public toilets is to migrate restroom services to the newly built smart public restrooms to enhance overall service levels and user experience.
In addition, there may be other reasons for the suspension of mobile public toilets, such as severe equipment aging, excessively high maintenance costs requiring comprehensive replacement, or temporary suspension due to construction work in the surrounding area to ensure construction safety and prevent damage to the toilets. When encountering situations where mobile public toilets are suspended, relevant departments should promptly issue notices to inform citizens of the reasons for the suspension and the estimated time for resuming use, so that citizens can合理安排 (reasonably arrange) their travel and restroom plans.
