Mobile Public Toilet Manufacturing
The manufacturing of mobile public toilets requires comprehensive consideration of materials, structure, mobility methods, sewage treatment, and design principles. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Material Selection and Structural Forms
The main materials for mobile toilets need to balance portability and durability. Traditional wood has gradually been replaced by polymer materials such as fiberglass and polyethylene, which are corrosion-resistant, easy to clean, and lightweight, making them suitable for frequent relocation scenarios. Structural forms are divided into single-unit structures (independent units) and composite structures (multi-unit combinations). The former is suitable for small-scale scenarios, while the latter can be expanded into multi-stall public facilities. Material selection should be comprehensively evaluated based on the durability requirements and budget of the usage scenario (e.g., scenic spots, construction sites).
2. Mobility Methods and Structural Design
The mobility method of mobile toilets directly affects structural design:
- Lifting/Handling Type: A load-bearing frame needs to be designed at the bottom to ensure structural stability during lifting, commonly seen in single-unit toilets made of fiberglass.
- Powered/Trailer Type: A wheel and axle system needs to be integrated. For example, in the case study, universal wheels are fixed at the bottom of the water storage tank or trailer board. The load-bearing capacity of the wheels (it is recommended that the load-bearing capacity of a single wheel be ≥200kg) and braking devices need to be considered to ensure mobility safety. The structural height should be controlled within 2.2-2.5 meters, and the width should be ≤1.8 meters to meet road transportation standards.
3. Sewage Treatment Systems
Choose a treatment method based on environmental protection requirements:
- Flush Type: Requires the configuration of a water storage tank (capacity ≥200L) and a sewage storage tank (capacity ≥500L), suitable for scenarios with a water source and convenient sewage discharge.
- Dry Packing Type: Uses biodegradable plastic bags to collect feces, requiring no water source, suitable for water-scarce or temporary usage scenarios.
- Recirculating Flush Type: Purifies sewage through biological degradation or chemical treatment to achieve water resource recycling, but with higher costs. In the case study, the stacked design of the water storage tank can simultaneously achieve freshwater storage and sewage separation, and anti-seepage treatment needs to be carried out inside the tank.
4. Manufacturing Process and Details
Taking the modification of a water storage tank as an example:
- Basic Frame: Fix universal wheels at the bottom of the trailer board or wooden board to ensure smooth movement on flat ground.
- Tank Treatment: Use an angle grinder to cut an opening at the top of the water storage tank. The cutting surface needs to be polished smooth to prevent scratches; when stacking tanks, metal brackets need to be used for reinforcement to avoid deformation.
- Internal Installation: Drill holes in the ground to install a drainage pipe (diameter ≥110mm), connecting the floor drain to the sewage tank; the toilet needs to be fixed with expansion bolts to prevent displacement during movement; the faucet and washbasin need to be sealed for waterproofing.
- External Enclosure: When installing the door frame, ventilation openings (area ≥0.02㎡) need to be reserved. The wall materials can be color-coated steel plates or PVC plates, and the roof needs to be coated with waterproofing.
5. Design Principles
The three core principles of lightweight (total weight ≤1.5 tons), modular (easy to disassemble and transport), and environmentally friendly (no leakage pollution) need to be followed. For example, in the case study, the use of universal wheels enables rapid movement, and the layered design of the water storage tank optimizes space utilization, both reflecting a balance of functionality and practicality.
