Mobile House Container Design
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
The design of mobile house containers requires comprehensive consideration of structural types, performance requirements, space utilization, and environmental protection characteristics. The specific design points are as follows:

I. Structural Type Selection
- Welded Integral Box
It is welded into shape as a whole in the factory, with a direct load path (roof load → side wall columns → bottom beams → ground), strong resistance to deformation, and is suitable for frequent lifting and moving scenarios (such as construction site project departments). - Bolt-Connected Assembled Box
It uses standard plates connected by bolts, with multiple nodes in the load path. It is necessary to focus on checking the steel plate thickness of the columns and bottom beams (common specifications are 1.5-3 millimeters). The thicker the plate, the greater the load-bearing redundancy, but the self-weight increases. It is suitable for scenarios that are sensitive to cost and have a low frequency of movement.
II. Performance Requirement Design
- Structural Stability
- It must comply with the GB50011-2010 Code for Seismic Design of Buildings. Priority should be given to all-steel structural frames (such as the packing boxes from Suzhou Zhongnan, which can withstand wind of level 12 and earthquakes of level 8, with a deformation rate of 0.18%).
- Under extreme working conditions (such as coastal typhoons and earthquake zones), it is necessary to verify the product's wind and earthquake resistance test reports and avoid using non-standard off-brand products (the frame deformation rate of which generally exceeds 1.2%, posing safety hazards).
- Thermal Performance Compensation
- Metal containers have a high thermal conductivity coefficient and require a three-layer structure: an outer layer of 0.6-millimeter galvanized plate (wind and sand resistance), a middle layer of 80-100-millimeter rock wool (main insulation), and an inner layer of PVC-coated steel plate (heat radiation reduction).
- An elevated layer is added at the bottom to block the conduction of ground cold bridges, reducing indoor temperature fluctuations by about 40% compared to traditional color steel plate houses.
III. Space Utilization Optimization
- Modular Combination
- It supports single-box use or multi-box assembly (for example, a 40-foot container can be assembled into a multi-bedroom large house), creating diverse architectural forms through container assembly.
- Internally, a functional overlay strategy is adopted: the kitchen and bathroom are compressed into a wet area (waterproof integration through integrated bathroom technology), and the living and sleeping areas achieve day-night functional switching through variable furniture (such as wall-mounted folding tables and drop-down beds).
- Natural Light and Ventilation
- Windows, sliding doors, and skylights are strategically arranged to maximize natural light and achieve cross-ventilation, reducing reliance on artificial lighting and mechanical ventilation.
IV. Environmental Protection and Sustainability
- Material Selection
- Priority should be given to using recyclable shipping containers to reduce building material consumption.
- Environmentally friendly materials such as bamboo and recycled insulation materials are used indoors to enhance the住宅's (here it should be 'house's') "green credentials".
- Energy System
- Integrate solar panels, rainwater collection systems, and green roofs to reduce environmental impact.
- For example, a 40-foot container house can be intelligently designed for future expansion or reconfiguration to adapt to changing living needs.
